This is a great barn find. 1964 Olds 98 Luxury Deluxe. Incredible shape for an original car, a true survivor. Even the newspapers that lined the truck were from 1974. I took it to a local car show the week after I found it and it took first place for most original car. The owner had passed away and this has been sitting in the barn covered. This car has power everything. 365HP 394cu in Rocket engine, auto tranny. Runs great, super smooth ride. If you ever rode in one of these as a kid, you will have some great memories. It makes a great car to run around in if you like the old car feel and ride. Could easily be restored to perfection without much work. This car was driven weekly by the previous owner. Its last trip was a 200 mile trip. These details were documented on a note found on the floorboard of the car in the barn. There were also several notes stating when the last maintenance had been performed down to when it was last waxed. I spoke to the son of the owner who told me he remembered riding in this car everywhere. The guy that owned this car ran an auto repair shop in a small town for years. The chrome/stainless trim on this car is perfect with the exception of one little ding on the wheel well trim over one of the front wheels and a few small areas on the bumpers. There is some rust that had started inside of the hood and deck lid but he had primered it and it has not progressed. The one picture shows the worst rust on the car. The previous owner tried to make it look a little better with some fill. The only mechanical things I know of are a transmission hard line that is leaking at the fitting into the transmission and small oil leak that appears to be from the rear main. I have looked at the tranny leak but not looked in the oil leak. I did replace the master cylinder. There was a new set of front shocks in the trunk when I found the car as well as the original tail lights. Someone had installed a set of blue dots at some point in another set of taillights. The tailights actually have a perfect spot for them and they look factory. Not sure if you can tell in the pictures. The car has some typical rock chips from normal driving and a few on one of the doors. The frame has been repaired behind the rear wheels. If you know about these cars, that was always a problem. It also will need new gaskets between the exhaust manifolds and exhaust pipes (doughnut gaskets). I have tried to describe this classic as best I can. If you look closely at the interior picture, you can see it right where the seat belt is laying. I will take more pictures and email them to you if you like. The carpet is pretty good shape, it has one spot worn thru under the carpet mats. The mats are carpet samples he must have picked up at a carpet store. The drivers armrest has been recovered and matches great. There are a couple places that have cracked on the top outside corners of the back seats. Once again, I will take pictures of that soon.
