For Auction is a 1977 Sebring Vanguard CitiCar. I intended to repair and use this car, but after pushing it around the garage for the last two years, I have decided to offer it to another owner. This is an extremely low mileage example, only 3789 mies, two of those miles are from me pushing it around. If you are not familiar with these cars, Google around a bit, there is a lot of info out there on these cars. This example was manufactured mid 1976, but was first registered as a 1977. I cleaned it up, but did not attempt to replace the eight batteries under the seat, or the one accessory battery under the dash. This car appears to be complete and intact, I removed the hatch glass lock (included), as the key for the doors and the hatch is missing. The body is ABS plastic, and is dry and brittle, there are some cracks as shown in the pictures. Batteries are not cheap, expect to spend @ $800 for a new array of eight 6 volt batteries pictured under the seat still connected. The charging unit is still under the dash, plug visible on the side of the vehicle. The brakes do not work, the car was sitting since @1984, last registered in 1983, but everything is there, master cyl, emergency brake handle etc.... The bumpers were foam rubber coated 2 x 8 boards from the factory, but had carpenter ants in them and I disposed of them. Included are copies of the last two registrations, but there is NO TITLE. Listing would not let me select this option. The car was last inspected in 1981. It is currently on trailer wheels, but included in this auction are the 4 original wheels and hubcaps (baby moon style) They are rusty but could be re-plated. The doors work and shut nicely, it needs the rubber trim around the rear window replaced, and the door plastic windows are crazed, but the plexiglass is good for patterns. The window frames are in good shape. Also included is a service manual that I purchased on Ebay, and what appears to be an original copy of a service procedure manual, (more like a pamphlet), it is pictured. This car appears to be complete, but has been sitting for a long time. For the ambitious and skilled, this could be an easy fix. If you are like me, at least you will get exercise pushing it around until you figure out what to do with it. I am relisting, I am sure there is someone out there who can make this a fun summer toy. This is strictly an as is sale. I will help you load. Please ask questions if you have them, I will give you honest answers about the condition of this car to the best of my ability but I am no expert on the electrical systems in this car. Can't make stuff up about a 35 year old plastic car. Put a stuffed Santa in it and display it proudly on your front lawn. I will include floodlights and a wreath for the winning bidder.
