Vehicle Detail
Just in time for Christmas, a gift that will last a lifetime, collectible and fun. A truly unique piece of Americana. This car is in great condition with only a few minor flaws. You won't find one in this good of shape for less than 8,000 dollars. As the 50th Anniversary for mustang is approaching, this car (25th anniversary) will only go up in value. This 1990 Ford Mustang is one of the limited edition LX 5.0 convertibles that were supposed to be part of a 7-UP giveaway that never came to be. The seller tells us that Ford then built 4103 of these cars, all with Emerald Green Metallic paint, white leather interior and top, and GT Turbine wheels. Here is a little background on the 7-UP cars from the seller: The 7-UP Bottling Company was to give away thirty of these cars at the 1990 NCAA basketball finals. In an audience participation contest, anyone sinking a basket from center court with one try was to drive home in one of the cars. At the last minute, the contest was canceled. 1990 Limited Edition Mustang Convertible – General Information Production of these cars started in December of 1989, with only two cars being built. Full production began February 2, 1990 with the final car being built May 29, 1990. The convertibles all started out as coupes, and had the hardtop removed prior to shipment to Cars & Concepts of Brighton, MI. The plan was to build 5,000 but only 4,103 were built. The breakdown of the production numbers is as follows: - Total production: 4,103 (including Canada) - Number of 5-Speeds: 1,360 (less than 1100 to the USA) - Number of Automatics: 2,743 - Number of vehicles exported: 261 The 1990 Limited Edition LX Convertible has some features which differentiate it from other Mustang models. These features include: - Deep Emerald Green Clear coat Metallic Paint (code PA) - Color-keyed body side moldings, fascia moldings and side view mirrors - White Leather Interior - White Convertible Top - 15? GT Aluminum Wheels All 7-UP cars came with the 225 horsepower 5.0 EFI engi The car is in great condition. It runs perfectly and has a new battery. I bought it 10 years ago with every intention of showing it at some point. 3 trips to Iraq and 2 kids later, I haven't had the time for too many hobbies. The top works perfectly but has a rip around the window, in order to be driven in the rain, the top will need to be repaired or replaced. The carpet is immaculate except for a small stain in the back, that is covered by the front seat. The passenger side rear window will not go down. I am sure its not the motor, and it could possibly just be the fuse. Everything is original, except an after market CD player. I have all the paperwork from the original owner and a clear title. This car is far from a fixer upper. This car is better than average condition and retails for over 8,000 dollars. Visit NADA and look for 1990 LMTD ED for exact value. If you have specific concerns or want to see pictures of any specific areas, let me know and I will get them to you.
