Vehicle Detail

Solid, complete, rust-free (virtually everything but the rear fenders and stake pockets-easy fixes), former Southern Utah farm truck. This barn-find 1952 Ford F-2 pickup sat for years in our desert community waiting for a restoration that never happened. Everything is there other than the bench seat, door panel, heater, and driver-side headlight backing plate (see pics). The real strength of this truck lies in it's completeness and the excellent condition of it's sheet metal. The cab, doors, floor boards, firewall, inner fenders, outer fenders, grill, tail gate, etc. are solid with nothing more than a light coating of surface rust (Mother Nature's preservative). Even the rims are factory original. It is the perfect basis for a restoration, or better yet, just freshen up the running gear and don't mess with that 60 years of beautiful exterior patina. Trucks like this can be restored over and over but are only original once. And other than an ancient paint job, this beauty is totally original. Running gear consists of the 226CID Inline OHV 6 engine connected to a 4 speed Borg-Warner T98 manual transmission running through a Timken rear differential with 4.86 gears. It is just as it came from the Ford factory in Long Beach, CA where it was assembled in 1952. I suspect it has never even left the Western United States. The engine doesn't currently turn, but I've poured Marvel Mystery Oil into the cylinders so it very well may by the time it's sold. Clutch engages/disengages, gears shift and the truck rolls and steers properly. If the engine free's up, you rebuilt the carb, changed the fluids (oil is clean and full), installed a battery and replaced the plugs and wires, I bet she would fire up, I'm just getting rid of projects I will never finish and unfortunately for me, this is one of them. The interior is complete (other than the bench seat). Whatever buttons and knobs you don't see on the dash come in a box of extra parts (see pics). That also includes extra gauges and switches. The dash is extremely straight with no cutting or butchery of any kind. It only has a few small holes drilled for accessories. Front glass is good; rear and side glass is flat and easily cut by a glass shop. The truck comes with two nomenclature plates (see pics) and a bill of sale only. I am pretty sure the one I specified in the ad is the right one but I have provided pictures of both for clarity. This is a great truck. It's complete, original, and near rust-free. Definitely a great basis for a restoration/drivetrain refresh. I sure hope it ends up in the hands of someone who appreciates it's uniqueness. They are certainly not making them like this anymore. My name is Chris and I am happy to answer your questions. Feel free to call me at 435-669-1470. I also have many additional pictures. Please send me a non-Ebay email address and I will get them right out. It is located in the dry, desert community of St. George, UT (about 100 miles north of Las Vegas). Thank you very much for your interest.
