Vehicle Detail
1998 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. I had this car in storage for a year while I was in Iraq. When I got home I had the car gone over by a mechanic. I replaced two tires, the battery and the rear main seal. I was driving the car until about a week ago when the ECM* went out. I’ve seen these sell for about $169 on eBay, but my truck needs an exhaust. One of them has to go, and I really need a truck. This has been a great car for the last few years. It’s a lot of fun (and would cost a lot more) in the spring, summer and fall. This car isn’t perfect, but overall is in good shape. The top is not ripped and works, but the edges are coming undone. I’m told that can be fixed without having to replace the top.The car does not start because of the ECM* so you will have to arrange to pick it up on a flatbed, or tow it. The price of this car reflects my opinion of its condition. That is why I have set a reserve. Expect a few small dents, dings and paint chips. Overall the car looks good when it’s cleaned up, but it is by no means a new car. The best time to pick the car up would be after 5pm on weekdays, or on the weekend after noon on Saturday or anytime Sunday. Please ask questions before bidding. Car must be picked up within 14 days, and a deposit of $300 is due via paypal within 24 hours of the auction’s end. The milage listed is not exact, but it's close.A few notes about the photos – The mark above the front driver side tire is a reflection of the garage. The splatter behind the rear tires is not permanent, and the white stuff and discoloration is frost. I would have washed the car before I took the photos, but for the price I think I’ll let the new owner do that. It will be like unwrapping a gift. The car really does look pretty good overall. *The car does not start in neutral, which it would if it were the park sensor, and the lights don’t dim when the key is turned. I could be wrong about the ECM, but it is the most likely culprit. Please ask questions before bidding. Thanks, and good luck.On Nov-24-12 at 05:23:07 PST, seller added the following information: I've lowered the reserve on this auction because, frankly I need the money. The truck needs work so I've got to get the car sold. ThanksOn Nov-27-12 at 09:23:23 PST, seller added the following information: The reserve on this car was $1200, but I removed it because I need the money (the truck broke down and the motorcycle sucks in the snow). I don't know how to test the ECM without replacing it or having the car towed to a garage. I've been told by a friend that it might be a fuse. Hell, I don't know. If you have tests or tricks you want me to try just let me know. The car can sit for as long as you need it to after the auction (within reason), as long as it is paid for. I'll keep it here until you can arange to pick it up.
