Vehicle Detail

1986 Camaro Z28 IROC Very nice and detailed IROC-Z. Loaded with T-tops, overhead console, fog lights, cruise control, tilt wheel, power windows, door locks, mirrors and seat. Solid Tennessee car that was sold new at (the former)E.B. Smith Chevrolet in Nashville. Car has not been modified or tampered with. CARFAX history is clean. Previous owner replaced many parts on the car. He told me this car had belonged to the same couple from 1990 until he purchased it in 2011. He got the car back roadworthy but ran out of time and money for the cosmetics. I purchased the car this past summer and have spent the better part of that time bringing the car back to top condition. It’s hard for me to believe, but this car is 26 years old so the paint was showing its’ age. As I said earlier no mods. have been done to this car. All the original smog equipment is intact and the original seats have never been recovered. That shows how this car has been cared for. I have all the original manuals, plastic wallet keys, an original sales brochure and many receipts. This is not an ultra low mile car in pristine original condition nor is it a national show car but it is a very nice car that would do great at a local show and you can actually drive it and put miles on it without ruining your investment. I’ll try to list all work that has been done to the car and if you have any questions feel free to contact me. EXTERIOR- Repainted the original color white. Ground effects were removed as well as all trim, mirrors, door locks etc. I had the door jambs, hatch area and underside of the hood repainted when car was painted. Dupont basecoat/clearcoat paint was then wet sanded and buffed to a finish slicker than anything offered in 1986. New paint (as mentioned above) New exterior decals/stripes New exterior emblems All black exterior trim refinished in correct color black INTERIOR- Original cloth seats and door panels in great shape. Original overhead console in great shape and still has the flashlight in it. Steering wheel and shift knob show minimal wear. New carpet kit (full kit including hatch area) Original carpet was faded. New dash pad cover (I think these dash pads cracked while on the showroom floor new) New Old Stock N.O.S. AC Delco in dash tachometer New headliner Previous owner installed an aftermarket CD player with JL Audio speakers. Previous owner also replaced all the weather strip on the car. T-tops have not leaked on me since I’ve owned the car. DRIVETRAIN- Original 305 Tuned Port Injection motor with 700R Overdrive transmission. Original 16 inch IROC wheels in good shape with no curb rash but the clearcoat is a little weak on them. Matching Kuhmo tires have good tread and ride decent. New exhaust-Including catalytic convertor and Magnaflow muffler. Aluminized pipe used for exhaust. Complete tune up- Including Plugs, Wires, Distributor Cap and Rotor Button New battery New alternator New Idle Air Control Valve New Fuel Filter Front end alignment with new center link installed New Air Filters New Hood Insulation Previous owner replaced all 4 brake calipers, brake hoses, brake master cylinder and brake booster. He also replaced the rear shocks and front struts. KNOWN ISSUES- AC was not real cold back in the summer. It has been converted to 134 freon but will need to be charged. Odometer works fine but the trip meter does not work. As I mentioned earlier the steering wheel and leather shift knob have some wear on them. Not bad enough for me to replace and take away from the originality of the car. Tires have good tread and ride decent but I think they have been on the car a long time. Original sunvisors were trashed and I didn’t replace them. I had the trim shop cover the visor holes when they redid the headliner. Visors are available through aftermarket suppliers but I chose not to buy them. OTHER- Car runs and drives out great and these cars handle very well. All the power options work including the cruise control. This was a great, solid car when I bought it and I’ve tried to fix everything I could find on the car that needed attention. Car is detailed inside, out and underneath. Has not been driven in the rain since completed. I’m simply out of garage space and figured I would list it and try to recoup some of my money instead of storing it in a friends’ garage. These cars are getting harder to find and will surely go up in value within the next 5 years, if not sooner. Reserve price is less than my investment and is not a buy it now price. Car has clean title history and is titled to me. Feel free to ask questions but please read the ad as I think I’ve covered most everything. TERMS OF SALE- CASH in person or WIRE TRANSFER ONLY. Checks must be drawn on a bank in the Nashville area and check will be cashed prior to the car or title leaving my possession. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE anyone interested to come and personally inspect the car prior to bidding. I have a flexible schedule and will arrange a showing/test drive any time. Do not rely on someone else. You are the only one who knows what you are looking for. Winning bidder responsible for sending a $500 NON REFUNDABLE deposit within 3 days of auction end and balance is due within 7 days of auction close. I prefer to have the car out of my garage within 10 days of auction close. PLEASE REMEMBER you are bidding to buy and not to look at and make an offer. That will not happen. Winning bidder responsible for any/all future repairs the vehicle may need and any/all costs associated with such repairs. Winning bidder responsible and for safety/emission inspection his/her state/county may require and any/all costs associated with having the vehicle conform. Buyer responsible for shipping and any/all costs associated with such. Seller reserves the right to end the auction early if car sales locally. Thanks for looking and once again feel free to contact me if you have any questions. On Nov-26-12 at 13:36:30 PST, seller added the following information: I failed to mention in the description that the horn does not work. Has not worked since I've owned the car.
