Vehicle Detail

1967 Original GTO Sport Coupe, pillar post, with a 400 cubic inch high performance (over400HP) motor and High Performance Automatic Transmission(new 2500 RPM torque converter). The Motor has just had the break in oil changed, it has less than 300 miles on it, it was completley gone thru with new rings and bearings. The heads are the highest performance heads avaiable in 1967, the block is from 1971. It has a comp cam and roller rockers, all ported and polished with all new components. Lots of new incedentials like a new radiator, new fuel pump, new oil pump, etc. The only thing I was had left to do on the drive train was lower gears and posi track of some kind, it has 323 gears now. The suspension needs some minor work like bushings, shocks etc, it all works the way it is but could be better. The body looks strait but has some lite dents and dings that need to be workerd out before its painted. There was rust under the silver trim on the bottem of the car on each side, the previous owner had the drivers side completly redone but the passenger side needs to have the rust cut out and fresh metal welded in, like they did on the drivers side. You can't see any of the rust because of the silver trim that covers the bottem of the body, and this trim is all like new condition, some of the pieces are brand new.It has new trim around the wheel well openings. What it needs now is new bumpers or to have the old ones straitened out and rechromed. Most of the other trim pieces are in good condition,I don't have the trim pieces around the front and back window on the car now as I planned on painting the car without them and then putting them on after the paint, like the factory did. What you are buying is my car that is 90% done, I have been building this car for awhile and if no one wants to pay my price I will continue to finish it out. I am selling it as I need some money for other projects. I am the third owner of this car, its got the original build sheet that was in the window of the car when it was new. It has a long list of options that arn't all that desireable in my opinion. Like fold down center section on the bench seat, I have to admit the bench seat isn't that bad. The interior was completly gone thru by the previous owner, it looks nice and is in very good condition but not perfect, like the fold down part of the seat has come unsown on one corner, the interior was redone by a professional upholsterer and was done with top grade Naugahyde. There is new carpet and its still in very good condition, it has a new headliner. The dash is unaltered but there isn't a radio, its gone. I just added new guages under the dash, I bought Jegs guages and they don't work all that great, like the temperature guage always starts at 140 degrees, so it always shows that its hotter than it really is, sometimes the voltmeter blacks out, the oil pressure guage seems ok, the Tachometer is good, its made by Sunpro. All the glass in the car is good, no cracks, in the picture of the back it looks like its got overspray or something on the rear window, but its just dust, no rust around the rear window. Overall this is a very good car, basically its an original survivor car, its not been wrecked and abused, its not finished by any stretch but that leaves its color up to the new owner. I don't particullary care for the original Lynwood green color but would think that would be what it should be painted. It would look nice about any color. This is one of my favorite cars from this era. The Sport Coupe or as some people seem to want to call it the pillar post model is the rarest of the three body styles of 1967 GTO's, also this is the last year of the First Gen GTO's. if any cars go up in value this should be one of them. I drive this car around town all the time, it starts up good and runs good, no serious problems, oh the tires on the back are a little to big and once in awhile they will rub on the body. The breaks suck, one forgets how far breaks have come, my truck has huge 4 wheel disc breaks and it won't go nearly as fast as this car, oh well. The doors open and close nice, the drivers side window needs a little help getting alinged when it gets rolled up, but then it goes up just fine. The trunk is rust free as are the floor pans inside the car, the trunk lock needs TLC to get it open, nothing serious, its a new lock. The guages in the dash work except the clock, so the speedometer works, the gas guage works and there is an idiot light for the oil pressure and the voltmeter. Please don't bid on this car if your not prepared to buy it. I would expect a 500.00 deposit at the time of your buying it, then the rest of purchase price in a reasonable time. You would be responsible for getting it here in Fillmore Utah. This car is currantly licensed and inspected for the state of Utah, its license runs out in July. I have the proper Utah title, its clear and its not a salvage title. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at 435 250 0079. I will consider a trade of another lesser valued, similiar type car with cash difference or I will consider high quality guns on trade, either of these will have to be priced at wholesale and my GTO"s price will be at the buy it now price.
