Vehicle Detail
This is a 1961 VW Beetle (Bug) which is 51 years old. It was a California car until 2007 when it was bought and shipped to Indiana. Car is rust free and has been stored in a heated garage since purchase. I’ve taken many pictures so please take your time and look at them. Paint on this car is so vibrant and clean. The car has been converted to 12V and includes the original Sapphire working AM radio. Car is extremely reliable to drive daily. I bought it from a collector that wanted to free some storage space. I’ve driven it daily for the past week over 70 miles each day and have had no issues. Includes classic roof luggage rack. Tires have a ton of tread and may be worn 15%. You can’t imagine how many compliments you get while driving it. People actually smile and wave at you. Mileage shows 77,404 which is not the true miles because the odometer does not work. The speedometer does function properly. The interior has be completely redone when it was restored in California. Car is sold "as is" and also advertised locally so I reserve the right to end auction at any time. This car is a true classic and would be a great daily driver. I have inspected the car over the last week and found the following minor issues. ½ dollar size paint bubble near driver's side windshield wiper and a couple small scratches on passenger door. (These are shown in detailed pictures below.) I have noticed a very very small oil leak and my mechanic said it's typical for a 51 year old VW. Car does not have a spare tire. Please don’t let the glare in some of the photos fool you. The interior is minty and the seats look worn in some of the photos but they are not. It’s that brushed sort of nap fabric that changes once you drag your hand across it. This is a true appreciating asset that is priced competitively below NADA classic car value which is $9550-average and $18,700-high. Car can be seen on the north side of Indianapolis and test drove by appointment. Buyer will be responsible for picking car up or having it shipped. $500 deposit must be sent within 48 hours after auction ends. I have 2 videos posted on You Tube. You can search Classic 61 VW Beetle Indy 1 or Classic 61 VW Beetle Indy 2 If you can't find the link on You Tube email me your email address and I will send you the link. For some reason Ebay won't let me include the link within the auction. On Nov-09-12 at 11:32:51 PST, seller added the following information: Just wanted to let everyone know the odometer does work. I drove the car to work today and noticed it working just fine.
