This truck came from a barn in Waxahachie,Texas. It was one owner and a farm truck its whole life. Last registered in 1987. I have the original receipt and its dated like 5 days before the title issue. The title is the original 1939 title with the envelope from 39 and 1 cent stamp. The truck has new plugs,wires,water pump,freeze plugs...I cleaned out the carb but it is crap and needs a new one. If you have a friend hold their hand over it while starting the truck cranks easy sometimes. Once its warmed up you you have to just pump steady to keep the gas flowing but it will idle and sounds good for a 73 year old motor. Smokes but seems to do better the more I run it. Trans shifts good and smooth and drove it in a field here and it was pretty fun. NO BRAKES......parts are here on e bay and not hard to find.All lights work,turn signals and horn....even the dome light works when you open the door. Am radio makes static and think it will play with an antennae(it broke off) Cab has very little rust. Hood is good and opens and shuts good. Tailgate is crap. Fenders are very rough but can be fixed since they are heavy steel. Looks like he hearded cattle with them and opened gates. Brakes ,a battery and a carburator you could drive as is.I dont care for rat rods but it would make a good one with modern running gear. If you restored this truck is rare and one of few 1/2 tons....1 ton flatbeds you find...not these. Has new window glass in doors but stupid people slamming doors have cracked them again.I had the whitwalls put on and the wheels are car pattern ford so easy to find. Windshield is good and will fold out but sealed with pooky right now.Gauges work except gas....12 volt alternator charges and has 40 psi oil pressure.Truck is as is....not a show truck so please dont expect one. Truck is rare and really cool though and no one will pull up beside you in one. Pre war stuff is hard to find. My number is 682 459 3078. I know early trucks were manual so this is much better. The heater box does work,fan comes on and even has a small defrost vent for window. I put new heater hoses on too. I havent opened the valve yet to see if leaks though. It is small and really simple. I might mess with it if warms up a little this week and no rain. If local I do have a trailer and could deliver if paid in full first. I wont drive to you to look at and then back out or change your mind. Truck gets a lot of traffic here and gets lots of offers. If they get close I might sell and close the auction early.....but not for low offers. If buy it now is used I have some door rubber material and hood felt and maybe enough for fender welt I will throw in.....also extra factory wheels including a rare artillery wheel. Truck is "AS IS"....it is nice for its age but is 73 yr old. Does have boo boos and rust....cab and doors are pretty nice. Bottom not falling out like lots of cars here and solid.
