Low mileage,1 Owner, diesel, manual 4-speed. We will not refuse a reasonable offer!! These are sought after Diesels, don't let this get away!! Autobahn Auto proudly presents this up for auction, 1 owner, 1982 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel. It's a 4 speed without AC. The Rabbit runs and drives very good. All the gears shift smoothly with no grinding in the gears. The engine runs very smooth. Some dashboard rattle and shakes at idle (normal.) Engine starts immediately after glow light goes off. The tires appear fairly new. The Rabbit still has a current VA State Inspection. We replaced the injector leak hoses as they were slightly brittle and wet. The Rabbit still has three quarters of diesel in the tank and is currently residing in my driveway through the duration of the auction :-) The interior is in pretty good shape considering how old the Rabbit is. The Rabbit has the 1.6 liter Diesel engine, and it is NOT a Turbo Diesel. We are holding the original title in hand from 1982!!! We don't know the past of the vehicle or its owner. When I test drove and checked the Rabbit over I noticed the brake pedal unusual hard. Diesel engines don't produce vacuum and they rely on a external vacuum pump. In most case the digraph has a pin hole over time and needs to be resealed. I'm familiar with the vacuum pump on older Mercedes. I am pretty sure these older Volkswagen diesel use similar pumps and rebuild kits can be purchased. However, the vehicle runs, drives and brakes just fine. The paint is NOT original, we can see where the it was redone some years ago. I photographed all the critical corners that like to rust. If you like additional photos taken just ask. The Rabbit does NOT come with any warranty and it is sold as is where is. All our feedback from ebay is 100% positive. We have sold many vehicles and often told that the vehicle are better then described. I am 100% German and I consider myself very honest. I don't add sugar to any of my auctions.
