Vehicle Detail
1980 Porsche 911 SC Sunroof Coupe Very Nice Original Condition! •The Porsche 911 SC has long gained a reputation for being an extremely well built, reliable, virtually bulletproof automobile and even more reliable than some of the later 911 models. My SC follows that line well and on sunday Oct. 07, 2012, I casually and at the last moment entered the competition and won Concour d’Elegance 2nd Place in the French Class! This, if I may say so, superb example has only 83,456 miles and was bought new at the Atlanta Porsche dealer at the time, Peter Greg Porsche Audi. I still have the original window sticker and the original factory manuals. Options included "Black Metallic Paint (A Special Order Weissach color for 1980 – see pics for views of paint in different light – a beautiful color), Genuine Leather Front Seats, Option Group F27 -- Elec. Outside Mirror Right, Alloy 16" Fuch Wheels, Sport Shocks, 2 Rear Speakers, Fog Lights, and Speed Control" as well as all of the standard options for the year: 3 Liter Air Cooled Eng., CIS fuel injection, Transistorized Brakerless Ignition, 5 Speed Synchronized Trans., 4 Wheel Vented Disc Brakes, Brake Booster, Intermittent Wipers, Black Window Molding, Front and Rear Stabilizer Bars, Tinted Glass, Air Conditioning, Outside Power Mirror w Elec. Defrost, Power Windows, Center Console, Oil level and Pressure gauge, Elec. Rear Window Defog, Front Oil Cooler, Eng Compartment Light, Transistorized Tach., and a Quartz Clock. • Among the records is documentation showing the engine having all of its Head Studs replaced by the second owner at 32k miles along with the Carrera Tensioner update and an engine overhaul. The Engine was put back together with all new (breather hoses, oil return tubes, oil pressure switch etc.) needed parts at that time, had perfect compression and needed nothing, having been thoroughly serviced. The brakes were all also rebuilt at this time, engine sound pad replaced, fan motor replaced, new motor support, warm up regulator replaced, steering shat bushing replaced, dash indicator, turn signal switch replaced, and rear seat belts added. There are many receipts from 1980 to 2000 with this car. The car has had three fussy owners; the first in Atlanta, Georgia, one in Tennessee and one in Virginia, today residing back in its home-town ATLANTA. • Cork Leather Seats, Chocolate Head-liner and Dash, compliment the black metallic paint the seats and head-liner are in good original condition. Lloyds mats are installed as added protection to the carpets (seats were removed to show original floor carpets – see pic). The Sunroof and intermittent wipers operate as new and all gauges except the clock, work perfectly. The original tool kit, jack, emergency spare are with the car along with a NOS tire inflation pump and tire gauge. See attached pictures of interior seats dash etc., make note of the door pockets with no gaps on bottom edges – same on both sides. The dash has a couple of cracks (this dash is very recoverable and does not need to be replaced), but the rest of the car is just so nice and in addition the original leather seats show well except for a couple of unraveled seams (should be easily restitched!) Air conditioning is all there but needs to be refreshed. • Upon my purchase of this car, I completely disassembled and had the car refinished to the exact original Metallic Black color and personally reassembled with all new weather stripping. (we all know how expensive that is to do these days!!!!) Additionally, I added four brand new Yokohama S drive ZR rated tires, a new master cylinder with brake fluid flush, and a new Sony AM/FM CD with four new speakers. Besides being factory galvanized, the car has lived in the South all of its life so has none of the typical corroded suspension or other areas of the car (note the pan in the pics), and of course has never been wrecked! • This car is not yet perfect but it is a very solid example of a 911 SC S/R Coupe which is becoming harder and harder to find and this particular clean SC could be brought up to a very, very nice example Porsche SC. • You will be delighted with your purchase as I have personally supervised and participated in the freshening to this point, of this true Porsche classic and rapidly appreciating car. • Low-Ballers will be ignored, scammers dumped. The reserve on this car was originally set at 22.5k but has been lowered by several thousands of dollars to below 19k. • I have lowered the reserve on this car again to a very, very reasonable price as of 10/22/12 pm! Have fun bidding on this car I don’t expect to relist it. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. Keith Legg 404 862-5893 or e-mail Classic911SC(at)aol.com Thank you for looking! J
