sswan40236 Store RARE 1964 PONTIAC CATALINA 2+2 CONVERTIBLEIn 1964 GM Pontiac Div. came out with the very first full size muscle car based on the Catalina body, and called it the 2+2. I bought my first one out of the dealer show room that year. Nothing could touch it with the 4-speed manual stick shift, 389 engine with factory 4 barrel carb with large size air cleaner, except the Pontiac 2+2 with the 421, I tried and lost the ten bucks bet. In 1965 I was clocked at 142 MPH on a test track in NM or AZ. The 64 2+2 I'm offering here is the second one I have owned, leaves rubber in all 4 gears, and only selling due to storage constraints. The convertible top is in great condition, as is the factory engine, trans., rear end, and shift box. The only thing this car burns, is tire rubber when popping the clutch in any of the four gears, a very fast car. Glass is great, and all upholstery is in excellent plus condition, as are the original gauges, the radio even works perfectly. Steering wheel has age cracks. The paint may be original, and has a few spider cracks and a little very minor wear here and there. One snap button for the conv. boot needs to be replaced. The fender side mirror cable needs adjustment. The spare tire appears to be original to the car, and worn as expected. The super rare hub caps are 100% original 1964 issue 2+2 to this car, as are the factory 2+2 emblems, no clones here! I believe the excellent chrome to be original, the side polished stainless steel side trim have some dings from door strikes. I do not believe this car has ever been in an accident. The last genuine 1964 Catalina 2+2 convertible I saw on Ebay 5-6 years ago, sold for $65,000. I offer this at a lower price due to needing space and the economy. Will answer questions as best and quickly as I can.
