Vehicle Detail

Welcome! Thanks for taking the time to view our listing . Up for auction is this 1940 GMC pickup with a clear and current title. This Title matches the nice original ID tag located on the inside firewall with Vin# AC1523656. Engine number is B22833I82. We are unsure of the trucks exact mileage due to age. This truck is in great condition for its age and would be an easy restoration. Engine compartment is complete and has the air cleaner / starter / ect still intact. We did try to turn over the engine by hand and it did not turn so more than likely the engine will need a rebuild or replacement due to age. Cab corners look great and most of the metal looks great. Please view the Photobucket slideshow located at the bottom of this page for additional pictures if you click on " view all " on the slideshow it will take you to photobucket so you can view the album with additional large pictures. Grille looks very nice for its age with only a few small indents on a couple of bars and some peeling and surface rust on the chrome. Headlight buckets do have some dents on the top of them but you should be able to pound them out and smooth them out. We did notice that the header panel does have the typical mouse nest problem and will need to be replaced. There is also some pitting in that area and near the w/s hinges under the header panel. Doors have some small amounts of rust that need to be fixed on the lowers which is very typical for the age. Brakes do not work on this truck due to age. Seat frames/springs are in amazing condition and should be very easy to reupholster. Front fenders have some cracks that were welded on them. Running boards were cut just behind the cab because at 1 point someone had converted this from a pickup to a little wooden flatbed. We crawled under the truck and the frame looks great. All steering and linkage components are still intact and truck will steer from left to right. 98% of the floor looks great. we did notice a few bubble spots and rust spots behind the rear seat rail because of some dirt that got trapped on that area. Transmission shifts into all gears and rear end is not stuck. Wheels roll nicely & good used tires that hold air were just installed for easy loading onto a trailer. A standard cumalong or light duty winch will pull this on your trailer. Super cool 1940 GMC pickup ready for a restoration. On Oct-20-12 at 16:13:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello everyone. we have had some questions regarding shipping. we recommend a company called III's transport out of albany ohio. The shippers name is John gardiner and his email is: jackshaft1983@gmail.com That is the only person we know of other than using Uship.com. We found him on Uship.com and he has a great reputation. you can email him for a shipping quote & approximate pickup date using that email. On Oct-20-12 at 16:25:06 PDT, seller added the following information: Update on the shipper we recommend. we have just contacted him and he said that he can ship this truck anywhere in the Lower 48 states for .75 cents a mile. much better than most shippers on the internet .
