Vehicle Detail

1971 DODGE CHALLENGER! VERY BUILDABLE SURVIVOR CAR! COMPLETE & UNMOLESTED! ORIGINAL PAINT, ORIGINAL INTERIOR, ORIGINAL DRIVE TRAIN, A TRULY REMARKABLE BARN FIND! This Challenger would make an excellent project car as it is complete & most everything is salvageable or in good shape. Like for example, all of the stainless is in great condition with no major pitting, dings, or scratches. That is just one aspect amongst many that attracted us to the car to begin with. Another remarkable aspect is the fact that this car has never been hacked on or molested. So you won't find any half cobbled body work, bondo, fiberglass, or any other nonsense through out the body. The third and probably most appealing aspect is that the Challenger is actually fairly solid. The majority of the floors are solid as is the trunk. Overall it is just a very interesting piece that will save someone a lot of time when it comes down to building it. Body: The body on this Challenger is mostly complete & is fairly solid. It does have rust but it isnt your typical rust where you would have to replace everything. For example, the rear floors and passenger floorboard is solid but the drivers side floor will need replaced. Much of the quarter panels can be saved. The doors are solid as is the majority of the trunk. The trunk lid and hood are in pretty good condition. The car still retains all of its original paint which obviously has to go but it does give you a solid foundation to go off of. There isn't any guess work as to what someone else may have done as it has never gone through any major body or paint work. All of the glass through out the Challenger is in good shape and is original to the car. The stainless through out the car is in great shape. None of it is suffering from any major pitting, scratches, or major dings. The front grill on this Challenger is in excellent condition. It isn't cracked and is complete. Engine & Mechanical: The Challenger does appear to retain its original 318 but it will need gone through or replaced. We do have the air breather for it as well as many of the parts from the engine bay. The transmission and rear end are still in place and were in good working order when the Challenger was stored away decades ago. Interior: As you will notice, the interior is complete and will need redone. The only thing lacking is the headliner. It looks as if someone began taking it down at one point and just stopped. The center console is in good shape as is the instrument panel. Everything within the interior is definitely salvageable and will save someone a considerable amount of money and time when it comes down to redoing it. The 71 Challengers are a car of their own. They are absolutely gorgeous in person and are fairly difficult to find. Especially the ones that have been locked away from society for multiple decades! I know that we would like nothing more than to restore the car ourselves as I know how much time & money we would save just in searching for parts! Unfortunately though, time is just not going to permit it, at least not right this moment. So our loss is your gain. I will be evaluating all reasonable offers and I will in fact sell the Challenger early as we do have it for sale "locally". I strongly encourage anyone who is interested to please call or email to schedule a time to come check it out. I would also like to add that I am usually on the phone from 7 AM until about 12 AM so you are always welcome to call and if I do not answer, just leave a message and I will return your call immediately. I know from my own experience with purchasing cars online, most of the time it is very difficult to get someone on the phone and to obtain the information you need. So I try to always stay on top of emails and phone calls. We do have a clear title for this Challenger. As always, good luck and happy bidding!
