First off, yes, this is a 1965 model.....previous owner installed a 1966 grille. My son and I bought this car with the option to restore it or sell it. I'm almost 70 years old and I just don't want to get into a prolonged restoration. My son's work schedule just doesn't give him the time. This car will need almost total restoration. My son knew the previous owner and knows a lot more about this car than I do. So, if you need any detailed info or have any questions please contact him (Daniel) at 502-409-3479. Here are the basics as he told me: We think the motor is a mid-90's 5.0 with some beef-ups. We haven't tried to start it......car sat for about 6 or 7 years.......last licensed in 2005. Motor is not stuck.....will turn over by hand. The best we can figure, the 5-speed transmission is from the late 80's era. Car was an automatic but was in the process of being changed over to a manual shift when the previous owner quit working on it. Rear end is 8.8 later model.........supposedlly non-slip but we don't know for sure. Has had some amateur restoration years ago. Front fenders and rear quarters were replaced. Floors were patched. All glass is good. (Stainless trim around the rear window is missing). Headliner, door panels, back seat and one bucket seat are all good. One bucket has a couple of small rips/tears. Hood is fiberglass with metal reinforcement and functional hood scoop. Rockers need patching or replaced. There are some rust issues along the bottom edge of the roof above the drip rail and the front windshield pillar. There are presently a few small rust holes in the floors and trunk area. Some rust in the undercarriage.......inquire about this for a detailed description. Car needs plenty of attention/work but would make an excellent father/son project as you have a fairly decent car to start with and it is mostly complete. We are not trying to hide any surprises here, we want to give an honest description and that's why we urge you to ask any questions. Car is located in Louisville, KY and if you can inspect it or send someone to inspect it for you, we encourage you to do so before you bid. $300.00 non-refundable deposit by way of PayPal at auction's end. Remainder to be paid in CASH at time of pick-up. Car will have to be trailered and you will have to arrange for this.
