Vehicle Detail
Beautiful, very original, near rust-free, stock and complete, great running 1958 International Harvester A110 half-ton pickup truck. This beauty has spent most of it's life as a farm truck in western and southern Utah. Other than an ancient respray over the original blue and white paint and a reupholstered bench seat, this truck is just as it left the IH factory in 1958. It even has the original build codes written in ink by the assembly line supervisor still visible on the firewall (see pics). International trucks have a well-earned reputation for being tough, sturdy, well-built, and long lasting. I think that's why great vintage examples like this one are so coveted by enthusiasts. The exterior/body is very impressive. Other than a tiny rust spot on the rear fender (see pics) and another on the cab corner (from old wet work gloves stuffed in there and long forgotten), it has no exterior rust-through. And these areas are easily repairable. If you are in a dry climate, you may not even want to worry about them; they are that minor. There are no missing or damaged panels and all the trim is still there. Look at those cool vintage, square-framed mirrors. From the perspective of a restoration candidate, it's difficult to imagine something better because of the pristine, complete, unbutchered, rust-free nature of the body. Interior is solid and very complete. All it lacks is a passenger door panel and speedometer cover. There is limited rust on the passenger floor that is flat metal and easily fixable. Drivers side floor and everything else is in great shape. All buttons and knobs are there; dash is very clean. Running boards, door bottoms, and interior panels are all rust-free and straight. The running gear is awesome. This truck is such a great driver it is hard to believe it is 54 years old. Again, everything is stock and mechanically, everything works great. It starts, runs, shifts, accelerates, turns, brakes, and stops properly. Front lights work but rear lights need to be wired up. Tires have newer tubes in them and great tread but they are cracking. It has a new battery, master cylinder, and fuel pump. Dual gas tanks were unhooked and drained for storage. I run it off a small gas can in the engine compartment which works great for short trips. You may want to leave it that way if you plan on doing anything restorative so you avoid bad gas/gelling issues. This is such an awesome truck. I hope it ends up in the hands of someone who appreciates it's uniqueness. They are getting more and more difficult to find. My name is Chris and I am available to answer any questions. Please call me at 435-669-1470. I also have tons of extra pictures. Please send me a non-Ebay email address and I'll send them to you. The truck is located in the dry, desert community of St. George, UT (about 100 miles north of Las Vegas). Thank you very much for your interest. ADDITIONAL GREAT INFO: A sharp Ebayer and IH expert just passed on the following..."You should mention it has the very rare and desirable 264 cubic inch six engine (153hp!)" I didn't know this truck was even more special. How cool is that? On Oct-20-12 at 00:18:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Reserve has been lowered to $3500. Good luck and good bidding. On Oct-20-12 at 17:30:17 PDT, seller added the following information: Need cash. Reserve has just been lowered to $2000. It's a beautiful truck; just drove it around the 'hood yesterday. Can't believe there is not more interest in this wonderful beast.
