1972 VW Meyers Manx Style 1941CC Dune Buggy EX Yaarab Temple - Shriners Parade CarThis 1972 VW Manx Style Dune Buggy Is Built On A 1966 VW Pan And Boasts A 1941CC Engine. I Purchased This Buggy From A Family That Originally Purchased It From The Yaarab Temple - Shriners Dune Buggy Division In Atlanta Georgia. That Used It In Parades To Entertain The Crowds. It has since Been titled Here In NC And Is Completely Street Legal. The Color Is Bright Yellow With Light Metal Flake The Interior Is A Dark Gray Cloth Creating A Very Comformable Ride. There Are Seat Belts For The Driver And Passenger And For Three Riders In The Back. The Motor Is Chromed Out With The Exception Of The Fuel Pump Which Was Changed Out And Really Needs To Be Replaced To Put The Finishing Touch On The Motor. This Dune Buggy Looks, Runs And Sounds Like Tweety Bird With A Bad AttitudeThe Dune Buggy Shows 18103 Miles On The Odometer. I Have No Way Of Verifying The True Mileage As It Was Towed To Events Before Being Titled. I Do However Know This Buggy Proforms, Runs And Drives Perfectly As If It Was Just Built Last Week. I Was Told The Engine Size Is A 1941CC It May Be Bigger. It Seems That The Engine Was Built With The Right Combination Of Everything As It Is Very Fast And Capable Of Pining You Back In The Seats When You Hit The Gas Petal And Go Through The Gears. It Will Also Reach Speeds In Excess Of 80 MPH In Third Gear In A Matter Of Seconds. It Revs Fast And Responds The Same. If You Read About The Temple Buggies Online You Will Find They Were Capable Of Doing Many Maneuvers Including Donuts, Figure Eights Ect While Maintaining Control In The Crowds. The Rear Torsion Bars Were Set Up With Blocks To Maintain This Control. There Is Also A Front Brake Lock On The Dash As Shown In The Pictures. The Buggy Has Steel Chrome Chevrolet Rally Wheels. The Rear Tires Are New. The Front Tires Are Like New. There Is No Rust What-so-ever In The Pans Or Anywhere Else. Please Look At The Pictures For More Details.There Is however Light Stress Cracking In The Gel Coat In A Few Places Due To Age On The Rear Of The Buggy As Shown In The Last Two Pictures That Needs To Be Reworked. This Cracking Is Not In The Fiberglass Only In The Gel Coat. There Is No Other Cracking In The Front Or Sides. There Is Also A Couple Of Chips In The Paint Below The Right Tail Light At The Bottom As Shown In One Picture. There Are No Other Chips Other Than Maybe A Few Knicks Here And There That Is Not Really Noticible. The Fuel Gauge Does Not Work.
