This is an excellent 1981 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ 60. I am the second owner. I was told by the 1st owner, who was a retired Military Colonel that he had used it for road trips only when he was living in the DC area, then it was moved to California when he retired. I bought it in Albuquerque, NM with only 76,000 miles on it from him and since then I have done quite a bit of work on the vehicle. At the time of sale I put new shocks and serviced the front and rear differentials. Soon after I had new all terrain tires installed. The next year I had a new clutch and pressure plate installed, new mechanical fuel pump, new rear main seal, oil pan gasket, oil sending unit, crank seal, transmission seal, all new oil, gear and brake fluid and antifreeze. I also had a brand new factory carburetor, spark plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap and fuel filter installed. Later I had the exhaust manifold removed, resurfaced and replaced with a new gasket. The timing, back pressure, fuel pressure and mechanical advance are all A OK. Runs like A TOP! I had the brakes rebuilt top to bottom last year and also had the A/C recharged and it will flat freeze you out. It also has strong heating front and back. All electronics are functioning perfectly. The 4 wheel drive functions perfectly and this thing will climb a tree! It also has a factory installed towing package including an additional transmission cooling radiator. I have been informed by my mechanic that it will eventually need a new radiator fan clutch and a new distributor. No big deal on these and it runs fine as it is. The choke cable works but is a little stretched out when pulled for use and probably need adjusting or eventual replacement, works just fine as is. Also, the bushings on the accelerator rods may need replacing sooner or later, again, all these are presently in working condition, but I want to list anything that I have been told may need work in the future. The interior ceiling lining is in very good condition overall, however, there is some minor shrinkage due to age along the back cargo area edges, they have been secured though, (as seen in photo) also the sun visors have some age/sun wear on the plastic outer covers but work just fine. The previous owner rarely used the 4WD on his travels and I have used it only a handful of times, never off road! The paint finish is excellent, it has been repainted at one point, but very professional and looking great as you can see in the photos. The photographs you are viewing is the car with NO polish job done on it what so ever, just strait up as it looks everyday, what you see is what you will get. I have replaced the old carpet with brand new ( NOS) factory carpet and it is in prefect new condition. I left all the under neath sound insulation intact when I re carpeted and it is a fairly quiet ride too. You can see this is a car that was well cared for and timely serviced all of it's life and even comes with the all four original repair manuals and Toyota factory issued tool kit! With only 107,500 miles it's barely been broken in! The car is located in 50 miles from Charlotte, NC ( Clover, SC).
