Vehicle Detail

For Sale a super clean 1982 Corvette. I’m selling this Corvette for my brother: He’s selling his classic car inventory and moving on to another project. This car is always garaged, never taken out in bad weather, well taken care of, and driven properly. Very clean and operational. Low miles, runs great, shifts well, starts well, no leaks, driven to car shows. Flawless professional paint job, perfect color, custom accent decals. New interior, carpet, seats, dash, lenses. Brand new $1000 worth of rims, Brand new Tires. Super clean cross-fire injection motor with improved belt, pulleys, cooling fan. Super clean undercarriage, no rust, everything is tight. Brand new exhuast. A super deal, won’t last long. For sale locally Good Luck ! 1982 Facts: The 1982 Corvette had a new type of four-speed automatic transmission with lockup function in every gear except first. Under the hood was a new kind of 350-cid V-8 with Cross-Fire fuel injection. Twin throttle-body injectors with computerized metering. It had a much different type of fuel-injection system since mini-computerization had arrived. In the gas tank was a new electric fuel pump. Externally, the final version of the "big" (Stingray-style) Corvette changed little. Special finned wheels were similar to the cast-aluminum wheels that dated back to 1967. · power brakes and steering · cornering lamps · front fender louvers · halogen high-beam retractable headlamps · dual remote sport mirrors · tinted glass· The body-color front bumper had a built-in air dam. Also standard · Luggage security shade · air conditioning · push-button AM/FM radio · concealed wipers · power windows · time-delay dome/courtesy lamps · headlamp-on reminder · a lighted visor vanity mirror · a leather wrapped tilt/telescoping steering wheel · a 7,000-rpm tachometer · an analog clock with sweep second hand · a day/night mirror· a lighter · a trip odometer On Oct-09-12 at 15:47:22 PDT, seller added the following information: Information added 10-09-12I took the Corvette out for a drive today - The emissions and carburator system do need a little tuning. The car starts up very well, and runs at idle pretty well. Accelerates and brakes well. Sometimes the car dies in drive because the idle or carbs need some adjustments. My brother nor I understand how to make these adjustments. New windshield professionaly installed. Power windows work, gauges work.Has A/C, but needs to be hooked up (switch or fuse?)..and maybe charged. The very front of the car down by the air dam has a few road chips - nothing major - you have to get down to floor level to see them. The car comes with $5,000 in receipts on top of the orginal purchase of the car. Mainly cosmetic and dress up. It's definitely a head turner. One of the doors interior panels needs reattaching at the bottom.I've lowered the reserve $500. It's not a perfect car, but for the money a pretty darn good deal. Someone with a little classic car knowledge can take to the next level for little money. A cool car for the money. Good Luck. On Oct-10-12 at 14:58:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Information added 10-10-12 I noticed when I put the car in drive or reverse a bit of a looseness in the drive shaft as it engaged, and then a click, click noise when going real slow. The car needs new U-Joints on the drive shaft. I guess after 30 years they are dried up. I don't think it's terrible - but I would change out before driving for a long distance road trip. I'll throw some good U-Joints in for any buyer. Your local machine shop will swap out the U-joints and balance the drive shaft for about $50-$100. A good place to check first is a NAPA auto parts. You can also do this at home with a bench vise. http://www.corvettemagazine.com/1956-1982-corvette-driveshaft-u-joint-replacement/ I also had a e-bay'r e-mail me last night - mentioning that he had the same idle stalling issue with his 82 many years back. He replaced the O2 sensor and made sure the electrical connections were good. His idle problems were solved after that. He might be right. These O2 sensors run for about $20 at any parts store. It's recomended to replace every 50,000 or every 5 years. You can install yourself not much different than a spark plug. http://willcoxcorvette.com/instructions/Oxygen_Sensor_install.pdf
