Vehicle Detail
1935 Rolls Royce Phantom II (Chassis #75TA). Thrupp and Maberly body, drawing No. E849F, Body No. 6072. A great "barn find." THIS IS A RESTORATION PROJECT! This car has been taken apart, and is in boxes. The chassis has been thoroughly cleaned, primed with zinc chromate, and painted in black enamel. The engine appears to be from a Model 20-25HP Rolls Royce. The car was running at the time of disassembly. The car started its life as a Sports Sedanca de Ville, was then converted to a hearse while still in England; then an effort to convert it back to a touring car has been started. The Rolls Royce body's of this time period are made of wood (ash) framing with aluminum skin covering. The front doors are the original "suicide-type" doors of the time period. It has the very large Lucas P-100 headlights (not shown); one lens appears to be cracked, but still useable. All of the glass is from the original as received, and it is NOT SAFETY GLASS. One glass door window has already been broken, and the million shattered pieces thrown away. It should all be replaced with modern glass. It has the original British plates; and turn indicators ("trafficators" small lighted arms that pop out of the door pillars.) The BUYER is solely responsible for the loading and the transport of this vehicle and all of the parts boxes. NOTE: THE FENDERS, DOORS, HOOD PANELS, ETC. ARE NOT ATTACHED. THE INTERIOR PARTS, WOOD TRIM PIECES, HEADLAMPS, rear bumper, ETC ARE IN BOXES WITHIN THE VEHICLE. The outside fenders, doors, etc are merely propped up showing what final assembly will look like. Car also has the two (2) spare tires for the wheel wells. All tires are of 1980 purchase year, and should be replaced after restoration. Title is free and clear. Car is registered in California; currently has a non-op certificate. The vehicle is almost 20 feet in length bumper to bumper; about 13 ft wheelbase. Very impressive! Two reference books, magazines from RR Owners Club, and the reproduced 1935 Owners Manual are also included in the sale. I have way too many projects to finish, and some have got to go! The LEGAL: This automobile is sold as is where is. It is NOT running. The SELLER offers NO warranty, real or implied. The seller makes NO representation that the vehicle has all it's parts, nor that it will even run. THIS IS A RESTORATION PROJECT! LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. The person(s) buying this vehicle will be responsible for ALL vehicle relocation arrangements and costs. The final sale will NOT be contingent upon the buyer obtaining a mortgage, loan, or the approval of his/her spouse, spousal unit, or significant other. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you do not even look at this car if you do not have cash in hand and ALL approvals necessary to complete this transaction. Payment MUST be made by certified check drawn on a US bank. The car will NOT be released to the new owner until AFTER the certified check has been accepted by Wells Fargo, and they are assured that it is a valid financial transfer.
