Vehicle Detail

I bought this little pickup for my wife, to use around the farm, but she figured it was just too nice to drive in the fields. Basically, this truck came from the original owners son in Northern California. Dad died, and the son drove it once. He realized that it was difficult not to think about his father when he was in the critter. A friend told me about it, and the deal was done. The truck runs great, and the suspension and steering are like new. The tires were installed by the son on Sept 7, 1986. Needless to say, they still have the wee nubbins on them. Read on..... The truck had a dent on the drivers door, and otherwise was perfectly straight, and wearing it's original white paint. I had the door fixed, and the new wimbleton white paint sprayed. Notice how nice the bed bottom and sides are. The trim is all original, and in great shape. The grille is very nice, and the bumpers are near perfect. The new pant is sexy smooth to the touch, and those that appreciate the curves and lines of this era kruizer will know just what I mean. It's kinda like the smooth feel of a '51 Chev Deluxe steering wheel. It just doesn't get better. I had the original seat recovered with original steerhead design material in tan and pearl white, which is correct. The seat was rebuilt at that time. I bought a carpet several years ago, and just recently intalled it. Low and behold, it was for a 4-speed truck, so it has a lump on the tunnel side. I have a spare instrument cluster bezel, which is in better shape the the original, and it will go with the truck, along with the original hubcaps. My wife loves moons, hense the moon wheelcovers. They are not the screw-ons, and pop right off. There are two items that I have not addressed. The little truck needs a headliner, and at when I bought it, the windshield was badly cracked on down to the bottom. It allowed rainwater to collect in the floor footwells. Ouch!!!!! They were both rusty, and I did a quick fix. The substructure is fine, as is all the rest of the underside. Vehicles in the mountains of Northern California do not rust, 'cept when there is sitting water. I replaced the windshield with a new tinted and shaded unit, along with a new seal. All remaining glass is fine, and windows work properly. I have the original jack, and a spare wheel and tire. I wanted to install the fancier passenger car taillights with the backup lights, not to have the backup lights, but to make them bluedots. I'm old!!! I was told by everybody that the housings would not fit wagons or Rancheros. Bullfeathers!!!!!! They don't fit wagons, due to the spare tire support, but hey, Rancheros don't have the side mounted spare. So there they are. Kool, huh. The original housings and lenses are included. Please notice the dymo-label on the radio delete plate. It documents the last time the truck was driven prior to 2006, when we got it. Notice it has been driven exactly 200 miles since that time. That's why the tires are still new. However, they are a tad hard, but not cracked. This little truck is not perfect, but for it's age, it is darn nice, and stands tall!!!!! Should additional information be needed, please email. I will post any pictures and answer any questions.
