Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC. I purchased this car in 2004 for my father and ended up with the car back in my possession a year later when he decided he wanted a truck instead. I did several updates to the car intending on drag racing it however after racing it just a handful of times it has been stored away. In total I have put less than 2,000 miles on this car in the last 5 years. It is just taking up useful space in the garage today and I would like to go ahead and part with it and let it find a good home where it can be driven like it should. Overall this coupe has had several upgrades done to it. The car has the updated mark 2 air ride suspension, x-pipe exhaust, purple hornie drag mufflers, hooker headers, and Silverline Exhaust tips. The car had a fresh motor installed in it by a Linclon dealership in 2007. The SVT 4.6 DOHC has 1,869 miles on it since it was installed. The engine has had the intek V8 lincoln covers re-installed over the motor to keep the engine bay looking clean. I have records on the engine replacement from lincoln that will come with the car. The car body has 101,695 total miles on it overall. The car has a K&N air filter a crutcfield alarm system, and a remote starter installed. The interior is in almost perfect condition with a small tear in the leather on the passenger side door (shown in photos below). The exterior has a few blemishes that I attempted to capture in the photos. The biggest issue with the exterior is a crack windshield that happend when a tree limb fell on it. In addition there is a small dent behind the passenger door where the car was aparently backed into in a parking lot, the power antenna is broken off (my fault was done in an automatic car wash) and the Lincoln emblem is missing from the trunk latch. The car comes with the factory JBL 10 speaker stereo system with the trunk mounted 10 disc CD changer. The car has the factory silver plated aluminum rims on it and they are in near perfect condition. When I purchased this vehicle there was fender damage on the drivers side from a gaurdrail impact. The car was inspected and found to not have any frame damage (the wreck was cosmetic only). We replaced the fender, hood and front bumper clip on the car. There is no sign of damage on the body of the car from the accident it was involved in however because the purchase was made from an insurance auction, the car came with a salavge title which, in the state of KY, was changed to a rebuilt vehicle title once the car was titled to be driven on the road. When the car was purchased it had just over 89,000 miles on it. Since then the car has been driven around 12,000 miles. All body work was done at Lincoln and the paint was done by a local bodyshop. The car has been garaged for awhile and would need new tires as the rubber is starting to show signs of age (shown in pictures). The car will need a new battery and I would suggest flushing the fluids if you intend on making this car a daily driver as it has been rarely driven in the past year and the last fluid change was done about 18 months ago. The car runs great handles like a dream and is super quick. The car does suffer from a faulty breaker that will require eventual replacement. When driving the car I have experienced the breaker tripping and it shutting down the ignition system for a 15-20 min. interval. All told the cost for fixing the issues should be around ($800-950.00) including the windshield replacement. I have tried my best to outiline this car the best I can. If you have any questions regarding the vehicle you can message me and I will provide answers to the best of my knowledge. As mentioned the car is in good shape overall and eventhough it has a tremendous amount of power it is still a daily driveable car for someone who would want to do so. I would love to see this car go to a great home where it can be apreciated and taken care of. If you like the Mark VIII lincoln series then I am sure you will greatly enjoy this vehicle! Happy Bidding :)
