Vehicle Detail
I am selling this car for some friends of mine who's Father passed. This is a family owned Cadillac since 1969. The Family told me what they wanted for this car so that is what I set the price at. After looking at the prices on these cars, I think it is a great price for this car. Let me tell you a little about this car. It is a one owner and very well cared for. There is a bag of reciepts in the car that date back to the date of sale. there is the original sales paper work an a ton of records kept on this car. there is a little book also that show's every fill up, what the mileage was and how much the fuel was. 17 gallons of fuel was $5.00 back then, WOW. It shows oil changes, point replacement and any thing else done to this car. Very extreem but the man kept amazing records. there is also a ton of vintage insurance cards, vehicle registrations and emission reciepts. In the trunk there is a tub full of odd's and end's. Original car manual and Cadillac. There is original vintage GM Point sets and rotor cap and flasher just kept in the car incase they were ever needed. Im telling you this guy was anal. There is the original vintage collector plates that were used on this car years ago. I do know that there is a recent reciept with all the others because the family wanted to make sure everything was mechanically sound before selling. An oil and transmission fluid change was done at that time also. The original jack and tire is in the trunk. The steering wheel is a tilt and telescopes out also. There is an AM FM radio in the dash plus a Cadillac 8 track. There is a little MSDS ignition controll selectorl to the side of the dash that was installed years ago. My understanding is that they took many trips to Aspen Colorado which is high in altitude, they would be able to adjust their timing to compensate for the altitude. Pretty cool if you ask me. There are 5-6 Aspen Colorado State Park stickers on the front passenger side window. The cruise controll knob is missing but the cruise controll lever and functioning part is ok. The arm rest's are cracked but the passenger side is not too bad at all. There is a very small minor dent on the passenger side as seen in the pictures. Very minor. The body is in great condition but the clear coat has lost its clear in spots on the trunk and hood. The rest of the paint looks pretty good for 43 years old. The head liner is in excellent condition, the seat belts are hung up on the sides and in excellent condition, the seats show no tears or holes, also in pretty good shape for 43 yrs old. The carpet is like new and the original full lenght Cadillac floor matt's are in great shape. The battery is new. This Cadillac is fully loaded with power everything. Some of the door controlls work and some don't and I will tell you why. It would be an easy fix to get everything working. Appearently there was a problem with the switch for the window on the drivers door the old man proceeded to try to fix it himself and I think he did more harm than good. He cut the wires in the door jam and spliced them back together. Im sure he fixed it at the time but over the years a couple of the wires came apart and needs reconnected. I work on alot of older Chevy's and I can tell you that this is not that big of a deal to connect the wires back. For the couple of things that this car needs, it is really no big deal, especially at this price for a one owner all original Cadillac in very decent shape. I'm almost half tempted to just buy this for myself at this price. A couple hours of work and this car would be a great cruiser. It is unmolested, all original and complete. The engine is a 7.7 472, the passenger tail light was broke and glued back together at one time, but the amazing thing is that he had gotten another original GM tail light lense but never installed it. Very cool. I really do not know what more to say about this car. I hope the pictures speak for themselves. I see the prices on these cars and I know that this is a great deal at this price. There is a couple small things that could be done to this car, but for the most part, this man took very good care of his car over all years, kept great records and loved it dearly. This might not be as shiny as the ones selling for 28k, but this car has seen alot of love and care. All the reciepts and record keeping will show that this car was well cared for well kept. I have done my best at representing this car with the pictures and verbal explination. Please ask any questions before bidding. Please remember this is a 43 year old car and is sold as is. Thanks for looking and good luck. It is the buyers responsibility to pay and arrange shipping if needed. This car is very driveable if someone wanted to drive it home. $500.00 is required within 24 hours of auction's end and the balance due within 5 days of auctions end. I will help you with arranging the shipping if needed. You can reach me at 303-513-1767 if you have questions for me. Thanks, Mike.On Oct-03-12 at 17:06:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I got a couple offers so I ran that buy the owners and they said that 3,200 would be the lowest they would consider. to be fair to everyone, I just changed the buy it now price so everyone had the same chance instead of just selling to one person who made offer's. Please do not message me asking if it can be sold for any less. This is an outstanding price for this car and by chance if it does not sell for 3,200 Im sure I will work something out with these people for this car. So if your interested in this car at this low price, I wouldn't hesitate because it can be sold at any moment. Thanks for looking. if there are any questions please feel free to call me. 303-513-1767 MikeOn Oct-04-12 at 07:34:12 PDT, seller added the following information: It just came to my attention that the odometer cable has recently stopped working. The owners had just recently taken this car to a mechanic to get the fluids changed and to look the car over as I previously mentioned. I noticed the sticker in the window showing the oil change and the next change date and miles match the miles on the car. I know they drove the car home after the oil fluid change and the odometer still reads the same 17,000 miles as was written by the mechanic. the miles have not changed. I asked the people about this and they had no idea it had stopped working and that it had always worked because they always used the trip counter. Maybe it just came loose? Unsure about that. At worst case it might need a new one or just reatached. In any case, the price was dropped a couple hunderd dollars in case a new cable is needed. Thanks.
