Vehicle Detail

Selling my 1992 Toyota Previa LE with Extras. No reserve and now reduced. I have a ton of pictures and video below. I am the current owner and have been for 3 years. Please read the following explanations of current issues. Please also have a pre-bid inspection. I can be available most any part of the day local to 28262 or 28216 zip codes. If you'd like to speak to me via phone, please message me within eBay and provide your phone number. I will call you within 24 hours of your note once i am available to do so. The previa is in fair shape both inside and out. I've used it a little bit for travel and to haul stuff since i've gotten it, but i just haven't really put the miles on it (maybe 10k since i've gotten it?) and it sits in my driveway taking up space. I'd like for someone to be able to get some use out of it as these are excellent vans that are known for reliability. But i'm not going to just give it away. Runs and drives just fine. Its not the prettiest and could use some TLC. I purchased this van in the fall of 2009. I had specifically sought a Previa for its reliability and personality (yes, they have that in droves). At the time this one had been sitting for a couple years and wouldn't run. I bought it and had it towed to my house. I replaced the oil, battery, and starter to get it going again. I've since replaced: Starter, Battery, Coil, Spark Plugs, Tires and Wheels, Throttle Position Sensor, Pinion Seal, Fuel Filter, hood, emblems, oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze, liftgate shocks (kyb), Flex pipe, and numerous internal pieces. I've done very little work to the drive train other than maintenance. I've driven it to Florida and back in 2010 (550 miles each way) and to Virginia and back this past spring (250 Miles). I wouldn't hesitate to drive it coast to coast tomorrow if the need arose. Its a good, reliable vehicle and can be a great ride with a little TLC. Known Issues: I've posted a couple videos of the engine/road noise. http://youtu.be/8Xs4BJ3QISQ http://youtu.be/JWIRJIdwBzs Shifting: Perhaps the worst thing about the bean is the shifting. It can be erratic from time to timeIts done this since i got it running. Some days it'll shift just fine no matter how far/long you drive. Others it'll want to stay in 3rd gear all day. Another day and it'll just oscillate between gears. I believe the issue is the throttle position sensor TPS, as i've reseated it before, and put a different one on and its gotten better. Its nowhere near as bad as it was with the other sensor but i still get the issue from time to time. I tried to get it to show up in the video, but it didn't work so well. I had originally thought it was the transmission before my dad helped me discover the TPS problem, so I had bought a used transmission (roughly 200k on it). I've had it for 2 years but never installed it. Its stayed covered up in my shed. I'll include it with the sale if you want. When i last listed this, a gentleman contacted me to tell me he had this exact same issue with his van. He noted that he tested the wiring harness from the engine computer to the Throttle Position Sensor and found a wire with a break. After splicing the wire, this issue improved for him. I've been unable to test this with this van, but putting the info out there for what its worth. Rear Differential: The vehicle sat for several years and may have even been driven with a bad pinion seal. I replaced the seal and refilled the oil, but i still hear a grinding noise coming from the rear end when under load. Just a consistent whirr. You can hear a little in one of the videos. Engine: The only issue i note personally is an oil leak. At my last state inspection the shop also recommended a valve cover gasket. Otherwise the engine seems to run fine. The low fuel light will also come on at random times, even if tank is full. Not sure whats causing it, but it doesn't appear to impact performance. Struts: The front struts are bad. Any bump it hits you can really feel it. I had purchase two KYB struts to replace them, but never got around to it. Those are still in the box and i'll include those with the bean. Exhaust: After i got it running, i had to have exhaust work before the shop would pass state inspection. I had a new piece of flex pipe added. Its still a little louder than it should be, but it passes inspection so i've not done any further work on it. Exterior: There are several scrapes and dings. Sliding door handle is missing. Front passenger fender is dented (I have an extra I will include with the sale. Duct tape around driver's side turn light (had to tape the old one on when it broke on a road trip and was hanging by the wire). Some minor scuffs/dings/scratches throughout. Some deep gouges on the passenger side and scuffs on the passenger side door (Those got through the paint and are rusting slightly). Dent in rear bumper. Sliding Door: The outside handle is broken off and the inside panel is missing. You have to 'butt-bump' the back of the door to have it fully close. Interior: Its 20 years old and looks it. I've replaced several parts from the local Pull-A-Part, but there are still bits/pieces that aren't there. Nothing major aside from the sliding door panel i mention, just little plastic pieces, some screwhole covers etc. Missing the housing for the cigarette lighter. Its not the best looking and there are stains/marks. Kick panel missing on passenger side. Rear cargo light is out of its slot. Rips/stains in carpet. Some of the vinyl is peeling back from the rear side panel. Cracked leather. Some of the upholstery isn't pinned the way it would have been from the factory... no biggie, you just see the foam more. The drivers' side mirror wiggles. Radio: Sometimes it'll produce sound, other times it won't. not all speakers are working. Glass: The back windows are tinted and on one the tint is peeling. The rear sunroof is cracked. The visor for the front sunroof wont pull forward. There is a rock chip and 5" hairline crack on the windshield but both have undergone sealant treatment (i made the guy seal it when he said he wouldn't because he actually made the crack spread longer than it was before he came out). AC: I didn't drive it this summer, so don't really know how well its working, but i did convert the system to R134a two years ago and it worked fine then and the summer after. Driver's Door: The top inside panel needs to be reattached. Its floating right now and not secured down. I had to remove it from the inside of the door as the door threw a spring and would not unlock. I've replaced the spring now so that it will unlock, but the door panel is still loose as i don't have the parts. This van has been an act of love for me to get it up and running and looking halfway decent. Its the first time i've ever really worked on a vehicle and Haynes manual and forums really helped me out, but its time to let it go, as i've moved on to a Sienna for the family and a Tundra for the hauling. Winning bidder must contact Me within 24 hours of auction end, and make arrangements for payment at that time. A $100.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 5 days of auction end. If no contact is made within 24 hours I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or sell it otherwise. I've attempted to disclose any and all issues with the vehicle as i know them and i do not want to hide anything. I am no mechanical or aesthetical expert so I encourage everyone to have a pre-purchase inspection done before placing a bid. I have also listed this for sale locally, so reserve the right to cancel bids and sell if an offer comes up. Everyone is encouraged to contact me with questions or concerns. I will gladly speak to you on the phone, so please message me your phone number and I will call you. THanks everyone
