Vehicle Detail
Body- Solid donor shell with new rear quarters and rear floors. Welded subframe connectors installed. All blasted to bare metal and repainted 3yrs ago. Original front fenders, doors and hood. Paint job still good but starting to bubble in a couple of places. Some welding repair to original subframes. Entire front nose frame replaced with thicker aftermarket piece that is much stiffer than the flimsy original. Body is now quite inflexible and solid. Engine- DSS 331 stroker short block with main web support. AFR 180cc heads. 9.5:1CR. Comp Cams XE274 hydraulic roller with Comp Cam hyd lifters & steel roller rockers. Edlebrock Air Gap intake with Edlebrock 600cfm carb rejetted for this engine. New oil, fuel and water pumps. New timing chain and gears. New hard and soft fuel lines. MSD billet distributor and MSD 6A electronic ign. Chrome tri-Y headers and dual exhaust exiting ahead of rear tires. Milodon 7.5qt internally baffled road race oilpan. 400+hp. Drivetrain- World Class T-5 7003 series 5spd trans with .63OD from Mustang GT(tag still on trans box). The 7003 series have the highest torque handling ability of this type tranny. Works perfect. Rebalanced driveshaft with new u-joints. Totally rebuilt 8" posi center section with with four spider gear setup. New 3.5 ring and pinion. New Moser 28 spline axles with new bearings. New Centerforce 10.5" clutch ,pressure plate & TO bearing. Hydraulically actuated. New billet lightened flywheel and balancer with correct 28oz balance factor for DSS 331 stroker engine. Used bell housing from newer Mustang GT. New motor/trans mounts. Brakes- Rear axle housing from '76 Granada which has the larger rear brakes than Mustangs came with stock. New rear wheel cylinders and pads. Front spindles with disc brakes also from Granada with new pads and rebuilt calipers. new master cylinder. Not power actuated. Suspension- Global West tubular upper and lower control arms. Large diameter adjustable front strut rods. Competition Engineering adjustable coil overs in the front. 350# springs. 1" front swaybar with reinforced frame mounts. Maier Racing rear leaf springs with Comp Engineering adjustable rear shocks. Maier Racing panhard bar. Control Freak lower control arm subframe brace crosses over under oil pan. Upper shock tower strut that triangulates to firewall. New Wildwood fast ratio steering box. New draglink, tie rod ends, pittman arm and roller bearing idler arm. Other Stuff- New windshield wiper 2spd motor. new fan motor, new heater core and heater box seals. New Classic Air AC system (Hey, I live in southern Lousiana!). New headliner, carpets and window seals. rebuilt window regulators and front vent window assmeblies. New dash pad. New front and rear light assemblies. New 4 core performance radiator. Car never overheats. Excuses- Despite being rebuit, the window regulator on passenger door somtimes comes out of track. AC freezes up (might need recharge?). Cowl leaks enough to wet carpet after heavy rain. I've got a vent cover for that. Horn button doesn't work again. Cheesy aftermarket parts. Turn signals don't cancel automatically. Same cheesy aftermarket parts. Paint job starting to bubble at passenger door leading edge and at passanger side rear window. Paint job wasn't world class even when new but it still looks pretty good. Car vibrates at certain RPMs and is pretty stiff on bumpy roads due to suspension and body work performed. New front windshield has crack at lower passenger side (*%$# thing didn't make a year!). I don't feel like changing it out again. Absolutely NO excuses for the suspension and powertrain. Listed mileage as 40K just cause I had to fill in the blank. I have no idea what the original mileage is. I built this car to run like a road racer and it does. It accelerates hard, corners flat and has stable, predictable handling charactoristics. It has no collector value but will run circles around the trailer queens and will give any newer Mustang a run for their money. I've spanked a few already. Buyer needs to make all shipping arrangements. If someone shows me the money locally, it's gone! The car doesn't leave the driveway until payment clears and is in my account. I reserve the right to cancel clown bids.
