Vehicle Detail
1942 Dodge truck ½ ton model WC. This truck is in running condition and currently registered in California through July 2013. It starts easily, and always starts and runs great after it is warmed up.This is an example of a WWII issue ½ ton truck, and the serial number checks out as military issue, 1941 -1942, but I think it is a civilian cab, not GI. It has four wheel drive, with one passenger side lock out hub. I think it is a Dualmatic hub. I have used it in 4WD, and it works fine. I think this has a two-speed transfer case. This truck also has a forward PTO that operates, but there is no winch. There is no spare tire, and there are no combat rims. There is a knock when idling, but when you push in the clutch pedal, it immediately goes away. I'm told that the throw-out bearing is making the noise. It has a 230 CID six cylinder engine with stock single barrel carb. The head measured 23 inches. This truck also has a 12 volt 1970's used Chrysler alternator with a new voltage regulator. Headlights, aftermarket tail and brake lights work. It has a pair of so-called black-out lights mounted next to the headlights, but I don't know if they work. Original 6 volt starter. Brakes are in fair condition, the master cylinder has been rebuilt. It has a HydroVac brake booster, but it was removed and it is in a box that comes with the truck. This truck is also featured on the DODGEPOWERWAGON webpage, under "photoads" That website is a great place to get advice and questions answered! This is also on the Fresno Craigslist. I have driven this truck around town, but it really needs to be restored before I would call it a 'daily driver.' There are rust issues in the cab, but it did live its life in California, so I don't think the rust is insurmountable. The windshield frame is no good, however. About half of the glass needs replacing or is missing. Driver's side door needs a lot of work. I have clear California title to the truck, no DMV hassle. The truck is located in Kingsburg, CA - Zip Code 93631. Removal and transport is the responsibility of the Buyer. The truck does not come with a bed, but I have some bed parts in decent condition from what I think came off a mid-1950's Pilot House Dodge. No rear fenders or deck, but all sides and tailgate. The bed parts are NOT included, but if you want them, they are for sale for an additional $500. I don't think they really go with this truck. $1,900 or best offer. I can send you a lot of pictures through email, just contact me. CONTACT: No texting, just email, and I will contact you as soon as I am able. I work on-call, just about every other day. Thanks for looking.
