Vehicle Detail
1994 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon. This is a one family - 2 owner car. Fully loaded with options, and was used at the 1994 Hartford Open, then sold new that August with 926 miles. Mechanic's records are thorough from 1994-2007 and somewhat incomplete after that. Car was serviced almost exclusively (exceptions: road trip oil changes and some dealer service) by one mechanic during that time. Has SE package with all power features, including 6 way driver side seat. Other options include Beige Leather seats, Towing package, and full size spare tire. This car is a bit of a 'scratch and dent' cosmetically but drives great and runs strong. Recent service: New coolant hose in Aug'10. 4 new tires 3500 miles ago (Jan'10) - Rated for 85k miles and show almost no treadwear. Battery and new front shocks in Oct/Nov'09, Rear brakes done Oct'08 (estimated 10k miles ago). Engine, transmission and drivetrain - all are flawless. They've never given me issues in 5 years and the car has always run strong and responds to the pedal. This car has always passed emissions tests without further work. Interior - Driver's seat shows some wear and cracks to leather, steering wheel and column were replaced following a theft attempt in 2008 and paint on the steering wheel is worn showing the original red color of this replacement part. A tray between the ashtray and radio was also removed during the theft attempt. Floor mats to car are original and show their age; the driver's floor mat is especially worn. Floor carpet in back passenger seat is stained from plugged AC drain line that leaked in that location. Leather on passenger seat, second, and third rows are all in great shape and show little wear. I don't believe this car was ever smoked in - I do not smell it, but if it was ever smoked in it would have been over 10 years ago. Driver side door handle is loose. It can be tightened but only seems to be temporary. The headliner is mostly in place, but has fallen along both sides behind the passenger door. Power - Most electrical works great, including radio/antenna, seats, and mirrors. I would classify the AC as not working currently. The AC drain lines were clogged at one point and I have never attempted to repair this, so I do not know the condition of the coolant and compressor currently. The fans blow strong and heater does work well. The horn sticks and sometimes is always on, and I have removed the fuse for the horn to avoid this. I am unsure if the horn issue is due to an electrical issue or is related to the replacement steering wheel. The passenger power window motor does work but the widow hesitates to open due to accident damage to the front passenger door. Exterior - Shows signs of age and many panels are not perfect. There is one rust spot on the roof, about the diameter of a pencil eraser. Other small rust developments appear behind the rear tires and one on the driver side passenger door. Plastic coating protecting the wood grain vinyl is peeling or missing in many places - a typical problem for this car with age. Front bumper shows some accident damage. Grille is missing several vertical fins, and I removed the broken hood ornament at one point to search for a replacement. Driver's door has some scratches in front of and below the door handle. Rear bumper has some accident damage. There is also a large subtle dent below the license plate and the housing around the rear glass key/button is broken - the button does not work either. Front passenger rear view mirror is heavily marked with paint and this door has a large dent in it. Some trim pieces are missing (mostly black rubber strips applied to stainless below wood panels), and several others have been saved when removed from the car. Wheels - Wheels show age and some discoloration to alloy. All hubcaps present. Spare tire is full sized and looks great. Tires show very little wear and brakes should not require replacement soon either. Car starts on first turn of the key every time I've tried it recently. It is overdue for an oil change. Emissions/safety is not current, but this is due to the fact it is rarely driven. I think the only known issue that it would not pass for is the horn. It is available to visit in person and test drive. I am located near downtown Houston; please contact me via voice or text at 713.540.7747 to arrange a time. Evenings work best, and I am unavailable Sept 28-30. Balance due within one week of end of auction. I will accept cash in person, wire transfer, etc. Paypal may be accepted but with negotiated premium to cover portion of fees.
