I have owned this jeep for 10 years. It has been a great jeep. It runs well. I purchased the jeep with a rebuilt 258 (4.2 L) inline 6 motor which now has around 50,000 miles on it. The jeep mileage right now is 144,000 miles. The only upgrades I have done is put a 38/38 DGES Weber carburetor (I have a second one that I can include), 4" suspension lift kit, and good 33" mud tires. It has a 20 gallon gas tank. I cracked the original head trying to replace the exhaust manifold. I put on a new high output 4.0 L head off a 1992 jeep Cherokee. It increased the HP by 40. The manufacturer of the head welded the water jackets that did not align with the 258 motor (part of the modified head that I purchased from Clifford Performacne). I will include documentation of the head replacement for information. Everything else on the jeep is original (transfer case, differentials, etc). I put in a nice metal tool box with a lock to help secure tools and other equipment. I will be as honest as I can on what needs to be improvement or replacement: There is rust above both rear tires. The windshield was starting to leak and it started to rust the windshield frame. If you hold a paper against the exhaust when it is idling, the paper is sometimes being suck back into the exhaust. The jeep has a soft top. The doors and top frame are in great shape. The top and sides need to be replace, but you can still use them for another year or two.The paint is fading on hood.
