1973 Porsche 911 Coupe Sepia Brown San Francisco, CA 415-205-0716 sales@carplanet.com 1973 Porsche 911T Sunroof Coupe This NO RESERVE auction if for a matching numbers 1973 Porsche 911T Sunroof Coupe. Built in the second half of 1973, this one has the desirable CIS fuel injection. It is well known that the rare CIS injected '73 911T is the smoothest driving early 911 of them all. A California car with both of it's blue plates. Original 5 speed. Options include rare electric sunroof, a/c, S trim and wheel well trim. Fuchs alloy wheels. Original underside. Original 2.4 liter engine turns over, but is not currently running. Original color was Sepia Brown. Wearing an older full repaint in an attractive Copper Brown. Tan interior. Original dash. The following is a detailed description of the car, along with over 100 photos. iPad and iPhone viewers can access photos by clicking HERE. Please email or call us at 415-205-0716, if you have any questions. Photos and Videos Body, Trim and Paint Being a California car, the undercarriage remains in original rust free condition and is still wearing it's original factory undercoating. Hood, driver door and deck lid all close nicely with excellent gaps. Passenger door shows fair gaps. The origina rear license plate panel and bumper guards have been replaced with an aftermarket fiberglass rear panel. The original rear bumper guards are included. Very simple to go back to the original appearance. Optioned with the factory S trim package, all the chrome and aluminum trim parts remain in fair original condition. All the correct trim parts are present. All glass is in good original condition. Headlight glass and front and rear light lenses show no cracks. A new rear tail light lens is included. All chrome parts show good shine. All the rubber weatherstripping is present. Though the original color was Sepia Brown (color code 415), an older full repaint was completed over 20 years ago in an attractive Copper Brown. Having been off the road and stored indoors over the last 20 years, the paint condition is fair on most panels. The front hood shows the most wear with some crazing showing in the paint. Overall, the paint is showing it's age, but the paint condition fine for a driver. The original Sepia Brown paint is still present inside the engine compartment. Interior The front seats currently installed are the later more comfortable and safer highback post-74 Porsche 911 seats. The Tan interior was reupholstered many years ago and except for some tears in the front driver seat, remains in fair condition overall. The gauges, except clock, switches and knobs on the face of the dash are all present and are the originals. Electricals After hooking up a new battery, we confirmed that the sunroof motor functions, headlights, left tail light, and windshield wipers are functional. With some fuse cleaning, more lights will likely function. Condition of the starter and alternator is unknown. Other than the original clock, all the factory gauges are present. Odometer shows 78,032 miles, which is likely 178,032 miles. The dual batteries will need to be replaced. Engine and Transmission The engine is the original numbers matching 2.4 liter (engine number 6135847), factory rated at 140HP. With the CIS injection this motor returns a very respectable gas mileage rating and is the smoothest running of all the early 911 engines. The prior owner stated that the engine was in running condition prior to the car being placed in long term storage in the mid-90's. His plan was to install a later more powerful 911 engine, but never got around to completing the engine swap. The engine has always been stored indoors. We have verified that the engine does turn over. The engine appears to be complete other than the rear pulley, fuel distributor and fuel injector lines. The original 915 type 5 speed transmission is installed and shift linkage is connected. Suspension, Wheels, Tires and Brakes The suspension appears to be original and complete. Shocks appear to be in good condition. Original front and rear factory sway bars are installed. The Fuchs alloy wheels are in good condition with only a few minor scratches. A spare steel 15" wheel is also present. All four Michelin MXV radial tires hold air, but are older and are ready for replacement. The brakes are functional. The emergency brake is adjusted correctly and holds tight. Extra Parts The following extra parts are included: Spare wheel, pair of original rear bumper guards, right tail light lens, original a/c compressor, rear axles, heat exchangers, muffler, oil cooler and associated hoses.
