Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1956 Chevrolet Pick-Up Truck. This is a very solid old truck originally from Arkansas; it has lived here in Michigan since 1985 and has not been out of the barn here until this past July. I purchased it due to Hot Rod ambitions, but due to an unexpected expense I have decided to let it go. The truck has a 350 Four Bolt main engine from a 1974 Monte Carlo in it. This engine was pulled at 54K, it has a very mild RV Crane Cam in it, along with a Weiand Intake and Edelbrock Carburetor. The engine runs very well. It is hooked to an Automatic TH 350 Transmission which shifts as it should. The brakes are all original and will need some attention at some point. The pedal will stay hard from a month then gets soft so I’m sure there is a small leak somewhere, but they all work. As I mentioned the truck is extremely solid but being 56 years old there are a few small areas of concern. One is right rear fender has a 4x4 sized area of rust that has been repaired on the front side, “see pictures” and that same fender has a small chunk out of the rear side of it from a blow-out. The front fenders are very solid but someone has used a body filler to fix dents with and since the paint is old you could see the previous work, so I had a chance to buy a very nice set of un-molested fenders so they will be included, they are primed and ready for paint and are 100% rust free. And keep it in mind while you’re bidding, they cost me a grand. The only other know issues are that the truck is originally a 6V system and the alternator is a standard 12V system so the lights don’t work, this is a relatively simple fix but I haven’t bothered with it so it’s not done. I’m not trying to under-sell the truck but I know if I was coming from any distance to pick this truck up I would rather know all the little details than have a bunch of surprises, So now you know everything I know about it. Everywhere else is rock solid. It really is the way you would want to start out a cool project. Here is a small walk 360 degree walk-around video to check out if you like. I hold a clear title in hand. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZk0RU69ftM&list=UUzE4-rLjwUh-xiUYDY7oc0w&index=1&feature=plcp Feel free to ask questions. No Deadbeat Hyenas. I charge actual shipping and crating cost, what it cost me is what you pay. I have experience with shipping larger heavy items with good success, but it takes time to prepare them so please be patient. I am always willing to build a wooden shipping crate/container to help your item avoid damages, but please note this option takes extra time and is NOT free of charge. Overseas buyers are always welcome but are required to pay using PayPal or Wire TransferOn Sep-29-12 at 09:33:59 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted to let everyone know that I on Wednesday I had the truck into the brake shop to check out the brakes, the good thing is they found a hole in the left front brake hose and a leaky slave cylinder which I had all replaced with new parts. The bad thing is, that was the first time I had seen the truck up on a lift and I discovered there was some previous bodywork done to the cab corners, and the bottom of the doors are rusty. Maybe not a big deal to most but I want to make sure everyone is informed on what they are bidding on. Not just the newly discovered rust, but the new brake parts too.
