Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a rare treat for the street rider, supermoto racer, and collector alike. How often do you get the chance to own a street-legal, street-titled, full on AMA Supermoto bike, actually raced by a moto-legend? This was Mike Metzger's 2006 AMA Supermoto ride and pictures of him racing it are shown on this listing. After the season was over, the bike was given to Mike's mechanic, and eventually was offered for sale. This is the actual bike raced with the exception of the graphics, which were removed from the bike at the end of the season. This hot-rod started life as a 2004 Honda CRF450R. About the only thing that is original Honda is the frame, swingarm, gas tank, and some plastic. The bike has a Pro Circuit motor but the level of build is not known. Suffice it to say that this bike has huge compression and it is pro level fast.It is fresh, strong, and no smoke or funny noises. It has a Keihin FCR flat-slide car with a Boyesen Power Pump. It has a Pro Circuit full Titanium exhaust system, which includes the header and slip on. It has a Hinson slipper clutch and side case. It has a Pro Circuit set of billet triple clamps and billet bar risers. The forks are Pro Circuit reworked for supermoto spec and they have Metzger's name, fluid levels, and settings on tags. The rear shock is also reworked to supermoto spec with Metzger's name, fluid levels, and settings. It has a billet Pro Circuit linkage set up too. It has AMR over-sized radiators from Australia. Continuing with the race spec accessory list is Pro Taper bars, WER under-triple clamp steering damper, Magura GP Radial front master brake cylinder, steel braided front line, Braking supermoto front caliper, and Braking supermoto wave rotor. The rear is a wave rotor and the Excel supermoto wheel set with gold Talon billet hubs are shod with Continental SM tires. It has a Works Connection holeshot device, billet oil filler caps, Sun forged shift lever, IMS Pro wide pegs with supermoto sliders, IPO Ruffian grips, and a full set of Renthal sprockets and chain. It comes with a heavy duty aluminum side stand, a billet rear brake master cylinder cooler, TM Designworks chain slider, and a Baja Designs street legal kit. I am sure I missed a few things but know that this bike is meticulously maintained and safety wired. The underside of the tank has a heat shield and the fuel lines have heat-resistant sleeves too. It still is wearing the AMA inspection sticker from the 2006 X-Games. This bike starts right up provided you start the piston at top dead center and kick it like a man.....or girl if you are an especially tough one. Like I said, the compression is serious and I run 110 race gas, although it seems to do just fine on premium pump gas too. It just prefers the good stuff. Cosmetically, the left side of the rear rim has the customary supermoto chain slap marks and the right side of the rear rim shows the anodizing to be faded. The seat and plastic are in excellent shape and it is wearing new Metal Mulisha graphics in honor of Mike. This bike is ready to race, ride on the street, or hit the track for track days. It needs nothing but a rider. It comes with a clear, clean, State of Utah street title in my name. I did a conservative pricing on all of the upgraded parts on this bike and the total was over $11,500, not including the price of the original bike. it is an absolute blast to ride, handles better than any supermoto I have ever owned Husqvarna, Husaberg, or KTM, and will hold it's value like nothing else. This bike is a steal at the buy it now price. Check my feedback and buy with confidence. I am always interested in other cool race, street, or dirt bikes. It is likely much less as most of the time put on the bike was during the 2006 AMA Supermoto races season. 845 was Mike Metgzers race number but I was required to put somthing in the box. *The bike does come with a State of Utah street title, safety inspection paperwork (required by the State of Utah to street register a motorcycle) and it is plated.
