Vehicle Detail
Very original, complete, stock, rust-free (other than a little in the bed-see pics), one family owned (1958-2010) 1958 Willys pickup that was used as a farm truck by the original owner it's entire life. When we bought it, we drove it out of the barn they stored it in. I guess that literally makes it a barn find. It's definitely a survivor as most Willys trucks/wagons have long since been modified, beat up and/or rusted away. It runs and drives well but the brakes need to be pumped up prior to driving. The four wheel drive works properly and most of the lights work. When we got it all that was missing was some little stuff (see pics). Everything else was there and the current seat has not been secured so no non-factory holes have been drilled in the cab. It has the flathead Super Hurricane six cylinder engine, T-90 three speed manual transmission, and Spicer Model 18 twin stick (hi/lo, 2/4) transfer case running through the stock Dana differentials. Tires have great tread but are cracking due to age. Interior is clean and unaltered. The dash has not suffered any cutting or butchery. Floors (and everything else) are solid other than one easily repairable, very small, sheet metal tear (zero rust through) where a bolt goes through (visible in pics). All the buttons and knobs are there including the original Signal Mfg. blinker switch and Willys logo horn button. Front and rear glass is in great shape; side flat glass in doors is cracked. Exterior is very solid but shows the bumps and bruises that come with 52 years of farm use. When a fender was bent, they fixed it; if a body weld broke, they fixed that too. Personally, I think wear and patina significantly add to the coolness factor. This truck could be restored/modified over and over but will only be original once. And therein lies it's real value. Even the rims are the stock and original 16 inchers. Plus it comes with that sweet, period correct ranch bumper. This is an awesome Willys. I hope it ends up in the hands of someone who understands it's uniqueness. Other than in the desert southwest, solid, original, complete and rust-free trucks are getting much harder to find. And even here it's getting pretty tough. My name is Chris and I am available to answer all your questions. Please call me at 435-669-1470. I also have tons of pics I would be happy to send. Please send me a non-Ebay email address and I will get them to you promptly. The truck is located in the dry, desert community of St. George, UT (about 100 miles north of Las Vegas). Thank you very much for your interest.
