Presented to the world for its consideration, is an amazing one-of-a-kind prototype.. The world's first and only fully customized Buick Reatta! Many people through the years have gotten excited about the Reatta, and they remain sought after collector cars today. However, as nice handling, luxurious, and well built as they were, they were underpowered compared to the Reatta's sister car, the Cadillac Alante, and left many desiring more power. The Alante shared the same chassis as the Reatta, a shortened version of Cadillac's E-body which GM tagged the V-body. In the Alante's final years it received the first generation of Cadillac's new 32 Valve Northstar V8, but why not the Reatta? Well, an Aircraft Technician in WI took it upon himself to do just that, in building the ultimate Reatta; incorporating all the latest modern technology that GM has to offer. In 2007, the project began and due to other logs in the fire (such as building a Velocity Aircraft and having two children) it took until August 2012 to see completion, so needless to say this is a fresh build, and the vehicle mechanical condition is like-new. A low-mileage 2005 (second-gen) Cadillac Northstar with 300hp and all the modern refinement and reliability was chosen, and fittment to the car went better than could have been expected. The engine just seems to belong with the car, like a match made in heaven. The dual exhaust sounds amazing; one could compare it to a Mustang Cobra or a new 6.0 Camaro. The engine is so smooth and refined, yet when it comes to life it feels and sounds like a high-end sports car.. No joke. It can cruise around with docile refinement, getting good fuel economy as it does it, or could satisfy the speed hunger of the most seasoned enthusiast and thrill the driver like a high-end luxury 2-seater sports car should.In addition to the engine, the front suspention and brake components were upgraded to that of modern GM cars; aluminum hubs, bigger brakes, etc, perfecting an already nice handling and braking vehicle. Literally everything up front is revised on the car. The car is very maintainable in that it accepted the right combination of modern OEM GM parts nicely, and all components are easily obtainable. Working on the car is no more difficult than it was originally, but in many ways easier, like changing spark plugs! With the sale a list of every part that was installed will be included, so that there is no guess-work and the car can be kept going for decades to come. The car functions like it was produced this way from the factory. The fact that everything works and has such a nice OEM feel shows the level of quality that went into the build. Most likely one of the main reasons no one has attempted this in the past is Reatta's being such a sophisticated automobile, making the seamless integration of an equally sophisticated engine is, tricky. In this case, it was pulled off with precision. Anti-lock brakes.. Work! Air conditioning works! Cruise control? Yup! Full factory instrumentation and CRT touchscreen functionality. Everything just works.. A very nice smooth vehicle that just seems correct.So, like a full performance overhaul wasn't enough.. how about a complete cosmetic redesign?!? Alright.. problem is, there are absolutely no body mods offered anywhere for the car! So here is yet another first to the world.. Great effort went into a total asthetic transformation of the Buick Reatta! Necessary custom front and rear bumpers, along with side skirts were conceived with care and a great deal of thought and effort. The new lines are very nice, and the car looks sharp from all angles. The car has gorgeous three-tone paint, which has been wet sanded and buffed to an award-winning finish. The car absolutely gleams, and heads turn when it's around. The nice factory seats were customized with three-tone lambskin leather; this in addition to the custom steering wheel further exemplifies the patriotic theme. The dual exhaust looks great coming out the rear bumper like a Ferrari and has a beautiful tone. The car is approx 7 inches shorter now due to the revised fiberglass bumpers. The style and feel of the car have completely changed, and that is the true beauty.. It's a brand new car to the world! Due to the level of difficulty and time that went into this beautiful one-of-a-kind transformation, reserve will be set a bit high (for a Reatta which seem to top out at laround $20k). To have a car built like this, if you could even find the right technician, would cost an absolute fortune. Ask Jay Leno or any other custom car collector. This car would be a steal at even $50,000 or $60,000, and we hope to find the right kind of exotic luxury car collectors that agree, and can appreciate what was done here.
