Vehicle Detail
I'm relisting because the high bidder bid it up to $3550 and then didn't pay. Second highest bidder ($3500) had already bought a truck by the time I offered it to him. So it goes... Very sweet, tastefully rat-rodded and modded 1966 Chevrolet C10 shortbed half-ton pickup truck. This truck started life as a Southern Utah farm truck and has resided in our dry, desert climate for the last 46 years. l think it's an awesome ride as-is (and a great daily driver) or a great basis for someone to take to the next level. All it really needs is the rear lights wired up and vintage plates. It currently has the original, low-mileage, factory 283 small-block running through a Turbo 350 automatic transmission to a 12 Bolt rear differential. From the factory, it was a four speed, floor-shift, manual transmission truck and the entire clutch linkage mechanism comes with it (see pics). Here's the low-down in detail... * Low mileage, great running, original, 283CID small block Chevy V8* Rams horn exhaust manifolds* Dual exhaust with Cherry Bombs exiting below rear bumper* Edelbrock intake manifold and carburetor* Custom cast American Flag/Bald Eagle air filter with K&N* New alternator (internally regulated (no external voltage regulator))* New battery* New starter and solenoid* Newer Turbo Hydro 350 automatic transmision* Hurst slap-stick shifter* Heavy-duty 12 bolt rear differential* Entire 1978 Chevrolet half-ton front suspension subframe with disc brakes (this is a bolt-on swap)* Six lug factory 15" Chevy rally-style wheels* Brand new tires* Brand new brakes front and rear including drums and rotors* Custom lowering coil springs all around* Excellent glass all around (only two window chips on passenger side windshield)* Body is all stock with limited, easily repairable rust (or just leave it for patina)* Most gauges work* Front lights and blinkers work* Heater/fan works* Speedo works/odometer doesn't* New door weatherstripping included* Grant steering wheel* Straight, original, uncut dashboard* Manual steering and brakes (very easy to drive; doesn't need power assist) This is an awesome truck. It started out as a longbed and at some point in it's history the frame was professionally shortened. You could never tell unless you looked closely underneath. The bed itself came from a factory shortbed truck and is extremely straight. Again, it runs and drives very well around town and at freeway speeds. It's very tight with no rattling or clunking characteristic of vintage and classic trucks. It could be a great driver as-is, or you could upgrade it as you drive, or whatever. And one of the great strength's is that half-ton Chevy/GMC trucks of this vintage came with coil springs all around unlike their rear leaf springed Ford and Dodge counterparts. This makes them easier to rod and a much more civilized, comfortable driver out of the gate. Thanks in advance for your interest. I am happy to answer all your questions. My name is Chris and I can be reached at 435-669-1470. Additionally, I have tons of extra pictures. Please send me a non-Ebay email address and I will send them promptly. The truck is located in the dry, desert community of St. George, UT (about 100 miles north of Las Vegas). Good luck and good bidding.
