Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration is a 1931 Chevrolet 5 Window Sport Coup 6 with Rumble seat. Has the roll down back window so you could speak to your guess riding in the rumble seat? This was the first year for the 5-window sport coupes, and the first year for the big 6 motor. Haves a three speed transmission. Has it's original cowl tag, 1931 was the first year for that. The paint code is #76 two tone, The car lower body was painted Black, with the upper body painted Boatswain Blue. There is evidence of the color blue paint when you open the rumble seat area, someone before I bought the Chevrolet decided an all black vehicle would be nice for them at the time. This Chevrolet was the 2,012 sport coup model made in Kansas City. Does have the crank handle above the window on the inside of vehicle that will allow you to crank up the windshield for additional ventilation. The windshield would only allow you to raise it about three inches, and this windshield was known as the Fisher "VV" (vision and ventilation) windshield, does turn but needs some work. Has the original early double bar front bumper, the original three spoke hard rubber steering wheel with only three line cracks, considering its age this is fine. has all the original glass. Has the original Deluxe smart chrome-plated wire mesh radiator shell stone guard to protect the radiator, these were only available for 1931 models. The radiator has a leak in the tubing and would need to have repaired. IM missing the pancake horn which was originally mounted under the left headlight, you should have no problem obtaining a horn at a swap meet or purchase a new reproduction. The battery is dead. Has the original 1931 headlight and bars, the original 1931 tail light assembly, that has a Chevrolet emblem, and also the original rumble seat lid handle, that will need a little care. The 1931 models had the exterior sun visor. The original owner of this Chevrolet back in 1932 went back to the Chevrolet car dealership and had them install the 1932 interior sun visors so I was told, however I think there nice on there, but you could remove them. All the wire wheels are original plus the spare. Has the original tire lock fasten to the spare tire, however there is no key, so your have to have a lock smith make you a suitable key. It's only locked to the tire so you wouldn't have any problem removing the tire off the car. Has the original 6V system, never was converted to a 12V. The Chevrolet ran fine two years ago, then my electric fuel pump diaphragm went out on me, and I haven't started it since. The electric fuel pump was added at the same time the original gas tank was professionally fiberglass on the inside to preserve the gas tank. Would need some new front end parts like bushings ect: The car has a shimming when you get to a certain speed. This Chevrolet has always been stored in a dry garage. I've owned this car since 1994, selling due to health reasons. IM the third owner. My Chevrolet has a clear title, and is title as a 1930 being it was sold originally in the latter part of 1930 when the new models came out. I originally bought the sport coup from a Dentist's estate. The original miles when I purchased this Chevrolet was 86,000 miles and now the odometer reads 87,440 original, drove just around town and parades and a few car shows through the years. This is a nice Chevrolet, and would make a nice car to drive around town or restore it. I will help on my end to help the new owner with getting this Chevrolet ready for the transport carrier. Shipping fees are your responsibility. Please look to all pictures for this will help in describing my Chevrolet. On Sep-22-12 at 22:31:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi, I forgot to mention, for the 1931, they only made 66,029 sport coupes, and also I need to mention we have two original hub caps, and the other two was found at a swap meet years ago, that are slightly different.
