Vehicle Detail

Beautifully stock and original, barn-find (literally), survivor, rust-free and complete 1955 Willys Pickup Truck that has spent it's entire life in the dry, desert, southwestern corner of Southern Utah as a farm truck since brand new in 1955. I'm selling this truck for a buddy of mine and he provided me with it's story/history/details below... My 1955 Willys Pickup "14 years ago (when I was 16) I saw this truck in a field. I fell in love and started to take care it. I would make sure that the windows were up and the seat was cleaned and conditioned. I would clean out the bed and make sure no rodents were making nests inside. It took me a few years to track down the owner and see if he would sell it. He told me that he wanted to save this truck for his son. I kept watching and taking care of this truck and every few years I’d talk to the owner. I happened to run into him one day and asked about the truck. He said that he would sell it. I later found out that his son was put into jail the previous day. I sold everything I had, bought it, brought it home and started to go to work. I read everything about the truck I could find. I even bought a parts truck for it. I talked to old mechanics to find out how to service and do maintenance on this truck. I have tried to go through it from head to toe. It ran strong the last time it ran. I went through the distributor and that’s where I stopped. I had it registered in 2010. I haven’t started it in over a year. I’m scared to start it up because; if it has a problem, I will have to fix it. I just don’t want to torture myself anymore with this truck. If I knew where the black market was, I would sell some organs to continue working on it." · The first owner of the truck owned it from 1955 to 1982 in Kanab, UT and used it on his farm.· The second owner brought the truck to Saint George in 1982 and owned it until 2010 (2 owners in 55 years). He used it on his farm until he parked it in 1995. · I have replaced the starter with a rebuilt 12 volt unit that cost around $350. I still have the original starter that has a crack in it's housing.· I have dropped the tank and cleaned it out using muriatic acid and MEK.· I rebuilt the original fuel pump.· I have all of the original pieces.· The carb had been upgraded to a 2BBL before I got it. I still have the original. They changed the intake manifold. I still have the original manifold that came with the truck. I have all the gaskets to install the original set up.· I have conditioned the original seats.· All original glass· The only thing I can think of that it doesn't have is the front bumper.· I started to rebuild the distributor but never had the chance to start it up after that.· The only mod that someone made was putting an electric fuel pump on. I have detached this and have the original pump working. They made a switch to turn on the fuel pump.· The heater box is some aftermarket thing but I have the original one.· I have new shift boots and knobs for all the shifters.· This also has the original floor mats and corn stock stuffing around the door.· Super Hurricane inline 6 flathead motor with the T90 transmission.· The compression in the cylinders were 90 to 120psi when I tested it last.· The only rust is in the bed. One of the stake pockets was filled up with mud. This is a Southern Utah desert truck. That's the story. Again, it's a beautiful truck and too original and perfect to modify. It should be preserved or restored. I hope it finds an owner who understands this. I've been a Willys owner since 1976 and understand their uniqueness. My name is Chris and I am happy to answer all your questions. Please call me at 435-669-1470. I also have tons of additional pictures I can send to you. Please provide me a non-Ebay email address and I will get them out promptly. The truck is located in St. George, UT (about 100 miles north of Las Vegas). Thank you very much for your interest.
