1966 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK 2+2! BELIEVED TO BE AN ORIGINAL 32K MILE "C" CODE 289 CAR! PONY STEERING WHEEL, POWER STEERING, THREE SPEED MANUAL, A VERY ENJOYABLE CAR! WE DO HAVE THIS MUSTANG FOR SALE LOCALLY AND RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY SHOULD IT SELL PRIOR TO THE END OF THE AUCTION. This Mustang is totally turn key and is an absolute blast to drive. One of the most remarkable aspects of this Mustang is the fact that it appears to be an all original sheet metal car that is completely rust free. That's right, an unmolested forty six year old vehicle. Body: I've been around many cars over the years and very seldom do I ever come across a car that has not been hacked on. This Mustang appears to retain most all of it's original sheet metal. It is completely rust free. About the only thing she really needs is the trunk and engine bay both need a good detailing. We just recently had the car repainted to the factory color Silver Blue Polly. As you can see, it does shine out beautifully. There is one spot where the clear coat began to bubble which is right underneath the gas cap along the rear tail panel. It is minor and can easily be taken care of. This happened when old gas made contact with that area. It is hardly noticeable as you will see within the photos located below. All of the weather stripping through out the car was replaced and is all new. The doors both open and shut with ease. The drivers side striker does need some minor adjusting as it seems to stick a little bit but it is intermittent. The chrome through out the Mustang is in great shape with no major dings or blemishes. One thing that is not factory correct about this car are the second generation Mustang wheels. They are in good shape and compliment the car very well but they are not period correct. Engine & Mechanical: We were told by the previous owner that the Mustang does retain it's original 289 as well as it's original three speed manual transmission. The motor runs out extremely well and does not smoke, leak, or make any odd noises. It is in excellent working order. The three speed transmission is also in excellent working order. It shifts smoothly through gears with absolutely no problems. It too does not leak nor does it use an excess amount of fluid. The power steering setup on this Fastback is also in excellent working order. There is little to no play in the steering and the Mustang soars smoothly down the road. The brake setup on the Mustang is also in good working order. The Mustang does not pull or shake when braking. All of the electrical components through out the Mustang are in good working order. Interior: The interior as you will see is in good shape. The carpet, buckets, rear folding seat, headliner, door panels, they are all in good shape. The Mustang does have a Pony steering wheel which was an option in which you could order during that time with out having to purchase the entire Pony Package. Which consisted of Pony seats. So if you've been looking for a Mustang at a reasonable price, this may just be it. I will be evaluating all reasonable offers and I will in fact sell the Mustang early as we do have it for sale "locally". I strongly encourage anyone who is interested to please call or email to schedule a time to come check it out. I would also like to add that I am usually on the phone from 7 AM until about 12 AM so you are always welcome to call and if I do not answer, just leave a message and I will return your call immediately. I know from my own experience with purchasing cars online, most of the time it is very difficult to get someone on the phone and to obtain the information you need. So I try to always stay on top of emails and phone calls. We do have a clear title for this Mustang. Thanks, Shawn 816.308.0351 Not the car you're looking for?
