Here's a rare and hard to find 1966 Chevelle 300 Deluxe 2 door sedan. I purchased this in 2008 from the original owner who bought it new from Giant Felix Chevrolet in Los Angeles. It remained in Los Angeles for over 30 years until the owners retired to northern California. They took the car with them and kept it continuously registered until my purchase in 2008. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPT FROM GIANT FELIX CHEVROLET! The car runs a drives. I do not have it licensed, but I start it occasionally and run it up and down the road in front of my storage building outside of town. My plans were to restore it to original with an upgrade to a 396 and 4 speed. This is not a fire sale, and I don't need to sell the car. It will just be awhile before I can get to it, so I thought I'd offer it here. The body on this car is SOLID, SOLID, SOLID!!! Floors, braces and entire underneath are very nice and solid, as is all of the sheet metal and inner structures on this car. I love the look of the original spot welds inside the wheel openings and lower quarters. hard to duplicate that! The only rust is the battery tray and the front fender lower section on each side as shown in photos, which would be a very easy repair. The car still wears nearly all of it's faded original paint which has some wear and tear, chips and minor parking lot dings as you would expect on a 46 year old car. The passenger door looks like it was repainted at some point, but there is no sign of damage or old repair. Inside of trunk is perfect with no rust of any kind. Original jack instructions are still intact on underside of deck lid. Odometer shows 26,000 and I'm sure it turned over once, so it has 126,000 original miles. The engine is the original 283 with 3 speed manual column shift transmission and overdrive. It still has all of the California smog equipment in place. Car runs good. Steers and brakes just fine. However, I'd recommend a thorough check of all brake components as well as belts, hoses, radiator etc. before putting it into extensive service. There are no known issues, but it has been sitting idle for several years. Transmission and clutch work very nicely. It has manual steering and brakes. The interior is complete and original. The 300 Deluxe only door panels have some warpage, but are in good condition. The warpage can be corrected and they would look great on a restored car. Seats are worn and tattered as pictured. Original material is available from SMS that would allow you to correctly restore the interior as opposed to doing a cheap and cheesy redo with the off the shelf Malibu seat covers most guys use when restoring their 300 sedans. I prefer the stock look for a sleeper car personally. The glass is all original. The front windshield has a crack, but the rest of the glass has just minor scratches that should polish out easily. Just typical wear as you'd expect on a 46 year old car. The pictures tell the story best, so I've included a bunch of them. I have a very reasonable reserve on this hard to find Chevelle.
