Vehicle Detail
You're bidding on a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 2-door Todor in the original Black and Ivory Gold (Bumble Bee) colors, featuring a 292 c.i. V8 (2-bbl) & dual exhuast. Someone was restoring the car several years ago, but gave up. I bought it to restore, but have too many projects to put the time into it now. The person doing the former work on her put in a black-and-yellow vinyl seats, which it came original with brown cloth. The 292 in it came from a '55 Ford, but it has Mercury heads on it. The engine was recently rebuilt and repainted. It has not been cranked, but does turn over. It has a new driver's front fender and the headlight bucket on both fenders are great (not rusted). The car is missing the front bumper and radiator. There is some minor rust on the passenger rear quarter (see pics) and tiny bits of rust through in the trunk; also rust on the outside decklid lip. The floorpans are solid. Since I've had it, I've added a new gas tank and new brakes and a new 12-volt battery. However, I have some new wheel cylinders for it that haven't been put on. The car has all of the outside chrome with it, as well as door panels and trim. The body is good and solid, except for the aforementioned spots, and glass is good. It is a good solid, restorable car that just needs a little time and attention. (The radio is missing, which leaves you a lot of options). The current wheels are 15-inchers, but 14s were the original, and it still has the original wheelcovers. It needs new carpet and headliner. Wonderful, near-ready project car! Please write with any questions. Thank you. NOTICE: This car is for sale in the continental 48 states ONLY! Also, no one with a "0" or lower Feedback rating can bid on this, or it will be voided. NOTICE: Alabama is a non-title state for pre-1975 cars. However, this car was bought in Mississippi and has a title from several years ago. You will be given a Notarized Bill of Sale that will be a legal document. On Sep-18-12 at 15:18:03 PDT, seller added the following information: I've been asked for more pictures concerning the trunk pan, trunk lid and the lower quarters. The trunk pan is in great shape except for the tiny areas close to the bumper that I mentioned. I hope these pictures help.
