Vehicle Detail

This Conestoga wagon has never left the state of Idaho, near as I can tell. It was bought new in Pocatello, Idaho, and spent it's entire life in and around American Falls, Idaho. It was bought new by a farmer, was driven by the family for years, and then traded for by my late cousin. He got the wagon back in the early 70's. At that time the tranny was bad, and he drove it into a storage building on his property in American Falls. The tranny was never fixed, and I got this cruizer upon his passing, about 3 years ago. The Wagon comes with a clear Idaho title. Knowing the complete history of this critter leads me to believe that it was parked only because of the tranny problem, so I doubt seriously that the engine has been hurt. As can be seen in the photos, the underhood area has not been messed with at all. The decals are all perfect, and the paint is very nice. Nothing in the engine area has been removed. The only major rust is at the bottom rear of the front fenders. Everything else that looks rusty is suface only, from the paint going away. I have been told that the front fenders on these Studes were painted separately from the car, and the quality was not up to par. That, along with the lack of drainage, caused the rust. The drip rails are fine, and the lower extremities are fine. No rust in the quarters or rockers. The two side drivers side body windows were broken, so the garnish moldings are surface rusty, but not bad. The rest of the glass is okay. The windshiels has a couple stars, but no cracks or brakes. The tailgate glass is perfect. All latches, hinges, stops, sliders, etc. are with the car. The back edges of the hood have been creased, and there are dents on the passenger side of the body, but nothing that would require panel replacement. The rear bumper is included, as well as the radio. One taillight bezel is munched. Aside from being a 2-Dr wagon, which is Kool, the '54 Conestoga has the split grille, which I feel is so much nicer than the '55 model. Also, the early Cad 331 is a bolt in. Hmmmmmmmmm!!!!! Please note that the interior rear seat floor pan area is dirty only. What you see in the pictures is NOT even surface rust. It IS dirt. If need be. I will clean and post pics. The front interior pan is surface rust, but NO rust through. The underside is surface rust, as all old cars have, but again, no rust through. The frame (yes, it has a full frame) is solid as a rock. I will gladly provide any pictures requested. The roof rack is not for this wagon, but I will throw it in if the BIN is used. Happy BiddingOn Sep-11-12 at 07:34:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks to fellow Ebayer, Chuck, for pointing out that this critter is a Commander, not a Champion. This is a GOOD thing. Sorry for the mistake. The drivers side grille bar tells the story. On Sep-11-12 at 10:20:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Well, the learning process goes on......I reckon the 259ci did not come out 'till '55. So the mill in this critter is a 232ci, and not a 259ci. Also, since I had a request about rust, I figured that I'd better have it right. I looked at the bottom, and took pictures. Even the heater box looks okay. Just surface rust. I had not wanted to pull up the original floor mats, but figured I'd better. Damn!!!!! There is some rust through in the outside corners. I have added pictures of the effected areas. The rears are okay, just need to be cleaned up. I have also added a picture of the rear bumper, including brackets and an overrider. The radio is included, but not pictured. Ask questions and request any pics. I'll be glad to respond. I certainly do not want any unhappy buyers, as I also buy a lot off Ebay, and hope to be treated the same. Thanks!!On Sep-12-12 at 20:34:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Okay, Okay!!!!!!!!! Please note that there is a Buy-It-Now option. It does not show up in the listing at this time, however, if you bid, it shows. DOn't ask me, I donno why. The BIN is $1,500.00. I wanted to have that option out there if anybody wanted to exercise it. BUT, this is a no-reserve auction, so the high bidder wins....period!!!!!! Please ask questions if this is nt clear....Thanks!!On Sep-15-12 at 13:53:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Since I realized this kruizer had the rust in the front pan, and I had not noticed it before, I will sell for a buy-it-now of $1,200.00. I tried to change the listing, but no dice. I will still throw in the roof rack. It is actually an old unit, but made for a wider car. ThanksOn Sep-15-12 at 14:00:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I HAVE CHECKED, AND THE BUY-IT-NOW OPTION, ON A NO RESERVE AUCTION, IS DROPPED UPON THE FIRST BID.............
