1966 Ford GT40 Recreation by CAV (Cape Advanced Vehicles) One Meticulous Owner, Superb Build With Extraordinary 3 Ring Binder of Documentation, 365HP 302 Motor by HRE, 3800 Miles From New, Immaculate Condition, Detailed to Perfection This 1966 Ford GT40 Recreation by CAV is one of the most well maintained and meticulously looked after vehicles we have ever seen. In 2004 we sold the car new to it's sole owner. A fanatic for cleanliness and care, he detailed and hand waxed the car for an hour after every drive, promptly covering it in a flanel car cover in his heated and climate controlled warehouse. The car has never been washed, never been wet or seen a drop of rain. The owner also kept every piece of paper, every manual, all literature and every photo that was ever associated with the car, from day one until now. This includes photos of the car's build, the engine build, all manuals, brochures, and all receipts. All of this is neatly organized in a full 3 ring binder. The car's internals were built up by Bill Andrews at HRE motorsports, a well known and very well regarded CAV expert. The motor is a Ford 302 running on MSD and a single Holley, making about 365HP (dyno sheet included.) It is equipped with an Getrag 5 speed, A/C and heat. Other features include: 12-qt sump, oil cooler, Aeroquip lines, Full tan leather/black alcanara interior, Smiths gauges, powder-coated exhaust, fire supression, lumbar adjustment and custom 3M clear bra and car cover. The car has been maintained and cleaned to such a degree that it essentially appears as new. The motor looks just as fresh and clean as the day it was installed in the car. The car performs incredibly, with terrific power and a very smooth shifting gearbox. Sitting on BRM wheels and BF Goodrich tires, and in this color combination, it is one of the most attractive GT40 recreations we have ever seen. This is a great opportunity to pick up an incredibly well maintained, extremely well documented, one owner, low mileage GT40 recreation that has never seen any hard use. It is one of those rare cars that looks essentially the same now as it did leaving the factory.
