I've owned this vehicle since the spring of 1983 and drove it the rest of that year and until the fall of 1984 when I put it up in my garage. It has sat untouched since then up on jackstands. I was left this way for 27 years only due to a change in my cicumstances and not the car's. I took it out of storage this spring and replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, ignition control module, battery and rebuilt the carburetor. The car runs very well. The car is a bit stiff due to storage but the more it is used it will loosen up. The brakes were checked and rear cylinders were replaced. The car has a Monza exhaust system which has a lifetime warranty (are they even still in business?). The only major flaw with the interior is a rip in the drivers seat. The rest of the interior is in very good condition for its age although the carpet is a bit thin in spots. All of the gauges function as they are suppsed to. Glass is good. The right front fender near the headlamp has a dent which was there when I bought it. The left front fender looks to have been repainted at some point before I owned the car but I don't know why as there doesn't appear to be any signs of damage.The overall paint is in good condition with a few flaws which are to be expected for its age. The undercarriage and rockers are in excellent condition with no rot. In the 2 years I drove the car I experienced no problems at all. This Capri II is actually a German Ford as the Capri did not become a Mercury until 1979. This is a very nice example of a vehicle seldom seen.
