Vehicle Detail
I have owned this Can Am since 2003 and purchased it in Portland, Oregon form Ree Motors who did the restoration. I drove it home along with a trailered parts Can Am. There were no problems then and have been none since I purchase it. This is an older restoration that still shows very well. The last time the car was shown was 2010 at the Black Hawk County Street Machine Springfest Car Show it was 1st place in "Factory Stock GM 1973-Present. It has won gold at the Pontiac GMC Oakland Show in 2006, and Best of Class at the same meet in 2008. It has never placed lower then 2nd in any show it has been in. Since I have owned it I have driven it approx. 6000 miles and have put a new 4 core radiator in it, new rotors, pads, shoes, turned the drums, and white letter Grand Am tires. The engine runs great, the exhaust is great, paint is still shinny. When I got the car I did not like the way the transmission shifts so I had the one from the parts car rebuilt, but never switched them. So that one can go with the car if your want it. I have also purchased a tach gauge pack that will go with the car. It has power steering, power brakes, tilt, AM/FM 8 track, rear window defrost, positrak rear end, the Pontiac TA400 with the 400 turbo transmission, most of the original paper work, and the correct inflatable spare tire. A full spare will go with the car incase of a flat - I would never use the inflatable one. The only problems this Can Am has are: small engine oil leak, the dash pad is terrible, ( I have a mint Firethorn Red one to go with the car ), I put a car cover over it on a hot day and about six bubbles in the paint appeared on the spoiler. There is a new package tray with new speaker in it that are not hooked up. The passenger bucket seat seams are splitting and it should be redone.
