I bought this trucks in hopes to turn it into a project, but I got a little over my head. The truck is a retired air force air truck used to haul heavy aircraft around the air field, subsequently truck's rear end diff (a dana), is gear very low. The odometer reads 23,000. Engine is very clean and runs and sounds great, not a single leak any where, starts right up every time. The engine is a straight 6 cummins turbo diesel (sounds awesome). I also have the bed of the truck, but I removed it as part of the project, that is as far as I got as far as the project truck is concerned. The truck is very basic... basically a cab, engine and frame, no ac, no radio and everything is manual. I honestly don't want to get rid of the truck, but am over my head as far as the skill and tools to turn this truck into a flat bed work truck. I drove the truck from Ft Dix NJ to Watertown NY with no problems whats so ever... gets about 20 to the gallon. I have seen overhauled 6BT diesel engines starting at $3,000, which are used a lot of times for 4X4 or big suburban type vehicles. Cab and frame are in good condition, no sign of any kind of damage and no signs of rust anywhere.
