Vehicle Detail
1915 Model T Pickup You are bidding on an actual barn find. It appears to have been stored inside its entire life. I actually pulled it out of an old garage where it’s been since 1981. Before anyone goes crazy insane on me….I know Ford did not make a 1915 pickup. (We believe it is 1915) It is a survivor. I bought this as part of a package deal from an estate sale. I prefer muscle cars and classic Honda motorcycles. Therefore the Model T is for sale . The best I can tell the motor # is __7898. I am GUESSING on this and I used a magnifying glass.. Can’t tell what the first # is, it may be a 3, 5,or 6 not sure. As far as I know this may be the 1st , 2nd, or 5th engine ……not sure. I had it “looked at” by a Model T Club member, owner and enthusiast. I CAN NOT guarantee any information forthcoming! Please come and see it yourself if possible. Upon close inspection we think that this vehicle was a special order without any….rear body/sheet metal or rear fenders from the floor boards back, the owner intending to make it into a truck. The vehicle was probably not built as a car and taken apart to make a pickup. What makes it rare is that we think it was ordered by the buyer as a “rear body delete“ so he could build a pickup. The hardware on the wooden pickup is period correct. If anyone suggests that this is or would be impossible please e-mail or phone with any factual information, although it will not affect my already low reserve. It is in what I consider excellent condition for its age. It does have electric start which means it must be a later engine as 1915 had no electric start. It has 2 speeds automatic? The body and wheels are perfect. I cranked it (by hand) just enough to make sure it wasn’t seized. I did not try to start it and I am not going to! The radiator is full so the block and radiator should be solid. I have a repair slip from a local garage dating back to 1981. I also have the ORIGINAL service manual. It does have the classic power horn which is included but not mounted. Remember …we believe this vehicle was not a car turned into a pickup. The original owner bought a “roller” from Ford and built a pickup. This may also have been built by a “coach maker”. I would really like any feedback you have. I spoke to the previous owner. He sold the car to the estate that I purchased it from, and at that time it had no DOT title. It was sold with a “bill of sale”. I will sell with “Bill of Sale” at this point. I’m told titles are easy to get for a Model T. (whatever that means.) I described the vehicle as best I can. It is for sale with NO RESERVE. Good luck bidding! Karl 610-368-3673
