Here is a 1983 944 that has 87535+ miles on it and I'm 99% sure that they are original, if you are not sure Carfax it!. I bought it to restore and enjoy but due to recent home repairs and too many projects its time to make room. The car is in fair condition overall, the paint was new a few years back but was done by an amateur and shows imperfections, such as some rust bubbles and dust in paint but looks OK when cleaned up. The service records are unknown , so i recently had the following things done/purchased for car: NEW timing belt and rollers replaced!!! New Headlight switch Replaced Passenger side window regulator New Radio unit Front speakers ( have new set for rear but they are working fine) Replaced Radiator hoses and Temp sensor for Fans Rear Hatch replaced (know prob with rear window separating from frame) New NYS Inspection til July 2013. Bought new 911 style fog lamps ( not installed)Rear cargo rug replacedDriver side rear Tail light New Spare tire, jack and Porsche air compressor Replacement wind/air deflector (not installed) Replacement right fender O.E.M. (due to amateur repair made to original, not installed)New 944 rear emblem Items that need attention: Possible repaint? (down the road) Good go through of suspension (some equipment looks original and rides like an 80's car) Fix minor leaks (Rear end Pass side axle seal?, oil pan gasket?) Adjust E-brakeClean grounds on gauges (known issues on 944 gauges jump once in awhile- per online forums)Driver side radiator fan makes a noise once in awhileOdometer stopped working on 8-9-12 (ordered new gear for speedo to get to work again) I have several small misc. parts that will be included in sale along with old hatch ( for Parts or repair). I am considering some trades, but depends on what it is. Body- Car was repainted a few years back, but was a "OK" job. There are signs of rust on the driver's side qtr both in the stone guard in front of the wheel and a few bubbles starting near rear marker light. Scrape on passenger side qtr from previous owner backing out of garage. Front passenger fender as mentioned above. Over all, its nice cleaned up but should be repainted down the road. Drive train- car runs well, just replaced wires and plugs ($180.00), clutch grabs well and shouldn't need replacement for awhile, rear axle as mentioned clicks once and awhile (purchased new and just needs to be installed), slight leak on rear axle (same side, so replace seal when change axle seal price- $10.00 needs to be purchased). Have to mention that the temp gauge/ grounds needs attention, gauge jumps runs between half-3/4 and jumps alittle when using blinker or headlights. It does not overheat or has ever since i owned it. (known issue with grounds and gauges per online forum) Drive ability- i drive this car every other day and runs well and great on gas. driven to work and back with no issues which is a 65 mile round trip. Trades- I'm only willing to trade for a pre-72 muscle car project of equal value (more familiar with these) Reason for selling- looking to invest more into current projects/ home repairs. If doesn't sell most if not all issues will be fixed and then re listed next spring with an increase in price.
