Up for bids here is our 1968. Both inside and this car is very clean. Has a 1600 engine which runs very well. Tune up is up to date and has always been well maintained. Car was driven a few times a week over the years and receipts are included reflecting whenever something was changed or replaced such as spark plugs, starter, distributor, complete clutch, lenses for the lights if one got scratched etc. Also included is the original 1968 owners manual (not a reproduction). Color is black with a brick red 2-tone which we always thought was very unique, especially with the roof rack which is included. The paint is really nice but does have normal wear from gravel etc. Car has always had this color since we had it. The rack comes off with 2 wing nuts if you do not have a garage and the slats are real wood as well. No rust and we are the 3rd owners. Inside, the car has new carpet of the original red color but the door panels are all the original brick red panels all in excellent shape including the ash tray! There are NO rips or tears in the upholstery on the seats. There are a few cracks on the dash (hardly noticeable) but other than that there is no rot and is in excellent condition also. Radio does work mono with the speaker behind the dash. Lights work also. All knobs are the special wood knobs all in excellent shape. The horn button has some cracks in it as well as the steering wheel base which is also hardly noticeable. The suspension has never been altered in height or ride and all beams and joints are very clean as I tried to show. The spare tire is not good and will need to be replaced which we will take care of if buy it now is used. The front bumper has been replaced with the chrome t-bars but the original bumper is included with the car as pictured. This is a great car and drives really well. Don’t miss out on this opportunity, German made bugs like this are getting harder and harder to find.
