Here is a 1969 Triumph Spitfire MK3. It is an older Resto/Mod done in 2005 and 2006. The body was removed from the frame and everything was blasted. the frame was modified and gusseted to handle the Aluminum V8 engine, which was an Olds version of the Buick ,Olds, Rover, 3.5. it has a Borg Warner, Camero T5 5 speed Transmission that shifts very well and smoth. with a hydraulic throw out bearing and master cylinder. Drive shaft is also Camero, but the Differential center section is out of an 85 BMW 735 I, with Audi Quatro Rear Disc brakes and hubs, with Parking brake. Rear suspension is Indi Car style 4 link tubular with all Hiem Joins and Coil Over Shocks with BMW sway bar. Front suspension was rebuilt with Victoria British complete Front end kit with all Tie rod ends, sway bar bushings trunions and king pins/ball joints, along with new GT6 1 in" lowering springs and new coil over shocks. The engine was rebuilt Last year with Silvolite 9.6 Pistons, 40 over bore job. new Cam bearings with a mild cam and new lifters, new cam chain and sprockets, fresh ground 10-10 Crank shaft with new main and rod bearings. Cooling is by a Griffin aluminum radiator with multiple electric fans, The short block was topped off with a fresh set of Rover 3.9 Cylinder Heads with the better valves and seats and aluminum valve covers.. Paint and interior were done in 2006 and has held up well.Seats are Summit Racing Poly sears with black replaceable covers, and 4 way seat belt harness. Dash is turned aluminum with electronic speed o and tach. Ther Speed does not read accuratly as it has the wrong sender on the trans. it needs the Hall Effect seder to read right. All other gauges work including fuel gauge which is the only thing left Lucas. Car was profesonally wired for the Delco Alternator and Gm engine. along with a new interior/dash wireing harness. Tires are almost new.On Aug-25-12 at 09:54:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Some questions have been asked concerning the front apron. No it is not falling off. The gap between the apron and the hood is due to having to lift the hood and body1" for radiator and engine clearance.
