Vehicle Detail

1954 Studebaker Commander "Rodster". One-of-a-kind customized Ramond Loewy Commander K coupe. In the style of the great customizers of the 50's and 60's, like George Barris, Ed Roth (Rat Fink) and Daryll Starbird. Great Parade Car. A real head turner. Desirable License plate. Low Reserve This Commander K coupe has been chopped and shortened by about 2 1/2 feet. Would be great at your town's next July 4th parade with an attractive "accessory" sitting up on the rear shelf waving at the crowd. This is a project vehicle - it does not run, and is not finished. Engine turns. I have not attempted to start it. Rolls freely and steers - no brakes. Drive-train is connected, and at some point I believe it was an operating vehicle. Titled in CA as a 1954 Studebaker. Tags good till February 2013. Vin # 8321690 California personalized plates SRODSTR included with sale. Overall fairly solid body and chassis - rust here and there - worst is in trunk floor (D/S rear). Whoever did the work did a competent job on the exterior. Cut and modified panels are smooth and lines are well integrated. Original running gear showing 60,XXX miles. 232 V8 w 2 barrel carb, automatic trans. Motor and differential have oil, trans has fluid, radiator is dry. Unsure if there is gas in the tank. Wipers are "deleted", but mechanism is still in the car. Restore it, leave it in it's current "Outlaw" look, or hot rod it. Whatever you choose, when it's running and driving, you will have a one-of-a-kind ride. A guaranteed head-turner and conversation piece at your local show-n-shine. Please look at all the photos - what you see is what you get. Any missing pieces are, well, missing. This car is ready to impress, intrigue and delight you, and your car-crazy friends. Bid now on this unique project - you don't want to be the one who let this "Rodster" slip away... Remember this vehicle has a current CA title and registration (good till February 2013) and the SRODSTR plates go with the car... Car is sold as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. All information is believed to be correct, but not guaranteed. You are encouraged to inspect this vehicle prior to purchase. Vehicle is located in Pasadena, CA Happy Studebakering, and good luck bidding. On Aug-22-12 at 23:13:05 PDT, seller added the following information: 1954 Studebaker Commander "Rodster".
