Vehicle Detail
1977 Datsun 280z Featuring a 350 Chevy V8 and Turbo 350 trans. Thanks for looking. I am being forced to sell my newly acquired 280Z due to some property damage that I must repair and, of course, it's not covered by insurance. I have a condo in Florida and the dock was washed away in a storm and now it's home owners responsibility. It's a cool car. Loads of photos and videos here on my flickr account. 100 odd photos and videos. http://www.flickr.com/photos/madteamkiwi/sets/72157630709631048/ You may have to copy and paste the link. I know the videos suck but it's hard by yourself. Indigo Red Exterior with Tan / Black (Carpet) Interior 350 Chevy Crate Motor, casting number is 10243880, which on castingnumbers.info is a 1995-99 350 4 bolt crate engine with a zz4 roller cam and a one piece seal. See this link, however I have not been inside this engine so really can't confirm this 100%. http://www.castingnumbers.info/site/detail/129/10243880 350 Turbo Trans Corvette 4 bbl Carb Quadrajet. Engine oil cooler and remote mounted oil filter. I have only had the car a month or so and have done approx 750m without a problem including a 350 mile round trip in 1 day. According to the last owner the conversion was done by a GM Engineer sometime in the late 90's. When he did this he put some monster frame ties from the front of the chassis all the way to the rear, the entire length of the floor, they are ΒΌ" thick by 1" high and 3 to 4 " wide. His brother bought the car and did the body work, flares, spoilers etc. The last owner had it for 10 years and sold it because he needed things for his daughter. He claimed only 6000 miles on the motor, so it's now about 6750. I have had the car on stands for inspection with all the wheels off and changed the engine and Tran's oil and inspected the brakes. It all seems good. The front brakes are really good with slotted rotors and the rears have new shoes and wheel cylinders. The exhaust is a twin pipe all the way out, and has 2 Super Trap mufflers at the rear, it sounds awesome and really is not too loud on the freeway. I have had this car to about 85mph (closed course, of course for safety) and you can let go of the wheel and it goes dead straight, and stops in a straight line, just like it should. It drives really nice The body work was done about 10-11 years ago and shows really really well. The paint is incredibly shiny and deep. It must have been done properly and extremely well as there are very few cracks or issues as can been seen in the photos. There are however a few small bumps and chips here and there, small little "door dent" type dents that can proberly be fixed by dent wizard if you wanted. The hood is a fiberglass hood with louvers, the front spoiler, running boards and flares are also fiberglass. So far as rust goes I have tried to photo every where I could and show really honestly what there is to see everywhere and from every angle. The floors are super solid and I found no problems at all, the inner fenders are the same way, the only real rust is on the original frame rails, but with the huge frame ties added this will never be a problem. I wouldn't even worry about this, and a good body shop could fix them in less than a day, if you wanted, but I wouldn't bother. The Interior is pretty good, Black carpets are excellent, seats are pretty good too. There are a couple small holes in the driver's seat. See pictures. Has a Pioneer CD Radio with Kenwood speakers What I know doesn't work, the clock, the fuel gauge comes and goes, there is no horn, there is no choke, not really needed though, the kick down cable is to short and not hooked up, other than that all the lights, turn signals, brake lights work. The spot lights in the front spoiler are not hooked up. There is a dash light that I think must be a charge light, it stays on but it is definetly charging very well. My plan was to just tidy up a few pieces here and there over the winter and have a bunch of fun next summer, because it's a cool ride. Come and see it, come and drive it, it's really fun. Can view almost anytime by prior arrangement. It's an old car, I'm showing as much as possible with my photo album, Its however being sold as is with no warranty. I can store for a few months if car is paid for in full. Can possibly arrange delivery at owners expense. Email with any questions, I will do my best to answer you as soon as possible. Email me your phone number if you want me to call you, I never post my number initially, there are too many weirdos out there. Car is located 30miles east of Cleveland, Ohio, In Chardon 44024
